Heartland: July 2013 contest submission. From the moment that I saw this months contest, I knew that I wanted to use the OTH theme for another show, and after much thought I chose this show because it reminds quite a bit of the values of OTH. (Password: heartlandoth

July 2013
Contest: Credit Swap
Deadline: August 1st - extended!

With all those great shows out there, we have been introduced to some really artistic and creative opening credits! The Walking Dead, Hawaii Five-0, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gilmore Girls are just a few of those that feature visually interesting and atmospheric opening titles to get us in the mood for our favourite programmes! That’s why, this month, we’re asking you to create your own! For this contest, we’d like to see videos that take the opening titles from one show, but recreate them in the style of another show! For instance, ever wonder what the Gilmore Girls opening credits would look like in Veronica Mars style?

Well, here’s your answer!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfkxExWw1Hc

If you fancy basing your vid on a show that does not have opening credits (eg. Lost, The Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time etc.) then that’s okay too, just as long as the show you’re swapping with has credits that last longer than 30 seconds. That way you have something to work with!

As an example, check out this video that recreates The Vampire Diaries intro in the style of the Friends opening credits:

Don’t worry about getting your intro to look exactly like the original. We know some will be trickier than others! Just be creative and try to do it to the best of your ability! We’re excited to see what you come up with!

The Rules

Specific Contest Rules
• Make the opening credits to one show in the style of another.
• No multi-fandom.
• Canon only. No AUs or OCs.
• Running time should be under three minutes. We suggest 30 seconds to three minutes.
• The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
• When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "July 2013 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.

General Contest Rules:
• Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page.
• All regular submissions Rules apply.
• Only one entry per vidder.
• Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
• Please do not use Rapidshare, Yousendit, Mediafire, or Sendspace as your only hosting place as the links tend to expire quickly.
• If you're using Youtube as your primary link, please also provide us with an alternative link. Far too often, YT is either disabled or muted by the time the contest is ready to be judged. Mediafire and zshare are just a couple of the sites out there that can be used as reliable backup links. We do realise that there have been a lot of issues with file-sharing websites recently but if you can find anywhere that you're comfortable uploading to and that is easily accessible, that would be great!
• Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available to be watched at least until after the deadline has passed. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
• Have fun!
