Lol yeah, but I think he played bad today. Sometimes he saved us and other times I was shouting at the TV yelling 'PUT CROUCH ON!!' I think we would of maybe won 2-0 if Peter Crouch was playing, hes been really good in the last 3 matches hes played. Hes scored once for us, and even when he misses he gives a thumbs up to his players who helped him. Unlike Rooney who just kicks of his boots and sulks and swears.
Hes such a baby. But I suppose hes our baby. _________________

I want you to know that I truly, sincerely tried my hardest (for two seconds) to make a bad pun about that line that would also be kid-safe, and that I have failed. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Lol he kicks his boots off when he is substituted. Of course he's a baby, only the childish ones play with such beautiful skill
Did you see when he got angry at the linesman? I looked like he was ready to thump him _________________

Whoo. Congrats to England on its win.
In celebration, here's a song my brother decided to get us during the World Cup '02. It's pretty catchy and cool.
Vindaloo by Fat Les. Don't know if anyone's heard of it, but here.

Could anyone explain to me why Americans call our football "soccer"? Seriously, WHY?
We use our FEET in our game; in the American "football" you use your hands, and sometimes your feet to kick it. But no more!
Why? I'm getting really tired of it, especially since "soccer" means "sugar" in Swedish... _________________

| Well in australia we only started calling soccer -football last year i think because that what it is know as around the world. But when you say football in australia we think rugby league, afl or Rugby union . And for the feet hand question i dont think we can start calling football -handball that just sounds stupid. But im not american so i can't answer for them. |

Wikipedia says that we call American football thus because it derived from a traditional football source - rugby league. It seems more of a historical artifact than an actual description. Also, this, which the article cautions to take with a grain of salt:
| Quote: | | While it is widely believed that the word football, or "foot ball", originated in reference to the action of a foot kicking a ball, there is a rival explanation, which has it that football originally referred to a variety of games in medieval Europe, which were played on foot.[1] These games were usually played by peasants, as opposed to the horse-riding sports often played by aristocrats. |

On which part, mine or Wikipedia? Essentially, Wikipedia says that 'football' could have come from the fact that the peasants played football on foot, while the nobility played stuff on horse - like polo and such. It says, however, that this might not be the case and that you should be skeptical about the explanation.
Now that I think about it, it's a lame explanation anyway. Tennis in the late 1500s -early 1600s was strictly a nobility sport, and I would LOVE to see that on horses, heh. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I absolutely went for Australia! Crappy Italy, i hate them ever since last EC, when Totti spitted thier opponent in his face. I loved when we kicked Italy out of the playoffs in that EC;)
I too do not understand how they can call that a penalty! My theory is that the judges wanted to go home or something so that the game would end... it should be rules that says that a penalty shouldn't be given that easy in that situation, i mean with soooo little time left for Aus to turn it. _________________
