He kicks the ball with the back of his foot, from behind! And the ball goes in just a few centimetres away from a nicking Italian... it's hard to explain, but seriously, that was a freakin' amaaazing goal. I've never seen anything like it.

Oooo craaap. I wanted France to win. They had such bad luck, as you said.
Oh well, gongrats Italy. And, for the record: two years ago Sweden played 1-1 against Italy. Hmmm...?

Can you believe Zindane? It was his last game for France and he does the stupidist thing in footbal HISTORY and headbutts an Italian in the chest.

Yeah, quite right! I was screaming out loud when I saw that. How could he?? What an awfully stupid way to end your career! I guess the French will be really upset or embarassed about that. I would be if it was a German player who did that.

And just to think, if they had had Terry Henry and Zindane then they might have got that goal that France needed to win the World Cup.

Yeah, you could be right. Zidane surely would've made a goal.
I guess this means goodbye now to the World Cup thread.  What a pity, it was such a nice time.

You're asking the wrong person I'll be 24/25 when the next European Cup takes place. Things aren't looking up for you anymore if you're at my age.
The last 3 years, so the time I went to university and did my Bachelor degree, went by so quickly!

Italy won! Whoopie!  You guys should have seen my neighborhood. Everyone was going nuts.
My sympathy lies with all those French supporters. They played a good game ... er, for the most part. But even French supporters have to agree that what Zidone did was a pretty foolish move. And to have THAT to be the last move you made as an international soccer player and French captain? C'mon! 
And meandi and Karolina, I know what you mean. I remember thinking four years ago that I would have graduated high school when the 2006 Cup was being played. I didn't think the day would come. But it has! Time is a crazy thing.

Yeah, me too... but I guess we'll have a "European Championship 2008 pre-thread" coming up! I mean, the countries do have to qualify for a year
