I felt that last night's episode was poorly written in some respects. Although Jack's repo man improvisation was great and Sawyer was on the mark. The opening scene too was pretty good.
But some things seemed to be off.
Why would her cuffs scrape her that bad (even if they were tight) unless she'd been dragged around in them? Why wouldn't Sawyer ask if she knew what happened to Jack seeing that they had been separated. Why was Kate a whining sissy? I really firmly believe that the writers just don't know HOW to write Kate. Is she the tough chick or the wilting flower? It's been two years. Decide!
The ENTIRE breakfast scenario was dumb and contrived. Just wanted to get her into a dress, huh?
I liked Juliette and I especially liked that she can obviously kick some serious ass, but I fear that she's up to no good. But I wanted to slap Ben when he slammed the door on her. What a jerk! Payback for the book club I suppose?
Why all the hoopla about making sure Jack stays hydrated and fed while starving Sawyer. And why didn't Kate eat her damned breakfast?
I felt for Jack in this flashback. (Gosh everyone in his life sucks.) However, I felt the same way I felt last year when they kept rehashing the whole drug thing with Charlie. I thought we worked through that. Jack let Boone go. Right? I mean, that was supposed to be an arc? I mean, if a character moves through an arc only to have to move through it AGAIN because the writers or the network or whomever are insistent on dragging things out as long as possible, then it will all just become meaningless to the audience. "At least you have something to fix..." *stabs*
I really WANT to like this season. Dammit I do. |

I wasnt for or against it, I just feel it was really rushed. Shannon was SO co-dependent, and Sayid was just like grasping at straws to care about someone. I mean if you do stand back and look at it, Shannon was sort of an idiot. But please dont jump all ove rme, I just felt the "I love you!!!" was a bit sudden, sorry thats how I feel. |
Oh, no, I wouldn't jump all over you at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and since it's OPINION, I don't think anyone can be wrong, really. And, anyway, I love Shannon lots and lots, but I don't disagree with you that she was sort of an idiot. I don't disagree at all.

That's why I liked it, too.

GAH! I hated that scene so much.
It looked like they had taken it out of a 14 year olds fan-fiction. _________________

Well overall i liked the episode...the first 5 minutes were really awesome!
The rest of it was very good too...i can see that Jack still loves Sarah. The end of the episode was really touching.I felt soo sorry for him...
Kate saying Sawyer's name first: Henry tried to make something of this and what did Kate say? "You don't know me." Just like Jack said to Juliet. Coincidence? I think not.
Anyway...about that Skate scene...even though i'm a Jater i think that it was sweet but nothing more...we can see that Sawyer really likes her but she doesn't show much emocion.
Angst makes ratings people. There is no angst if Kate picks Sawyer and they go back to the camp and Jack stays behind and falls for Juliet. Angst is if Kate picks Jack and he stays with the others and she is forced to leave him behind. He then returns as an other....possibly a different person because who can say how the experience will effect him. There will be angst between Kate and juliet that elizabeth mitchell said there was going to be why would there be anomosity if KAte picks Sawyer? Anyone who watches tv knows that once a couple gets together the ratings drop so they have to give the audience a little and then make a bunch of angst to keep the lovers seperated and in angst.
What a theory,a???

You are so wise.

Totally agree about the angst = ratings (although one could believe that if Kate chose Sawyer and was forced to leave him behind, there would be plenty of angst to go around, too. The Others are obviously interested in something about Sawyer as well or they wouldn't have asked for him as well... ).
Hey, at least Skaters and Jaters have one thing in common: we like Kate! Common ground! Let's celebrate! *shakes hands with Jaters and shares some chocolate chip cookies*
Anyway, I'm getting the feeling though that this whole "Kate makes her choice!" thing is going to be tied up in some sort of experiment Henry/Ben/Benry/What'sHisNameNow? is going to set in motion as opposed to it being like "Kate realizes who she loves all on her own with no outside influence from anybody!" as they were making it sound earlier. The bottom line is her "choice" right now may not be the "choice" she makes when they all finally get away... |

Exactly. I mean, Ben/Henry did say that the next few weeks are going to be ''very unpleasant''. Maybe thats her 'thing', she has to choose someone to be set free or something. Although that doesn't sound very orginal. I think the TPTB have a much more shocking story line than that. _________________

First off, the Most Important Thing, in my opinion, is:
What the heck do we call Henry/Ben/Benry/What'sHisName now? I mean, we need an official fandom-wide decision here!
And I'm with you, Elle, I hope it's going to be a total shocker of a storyline they have in mind! |

Me neither! I preffer to call him Henry, but now we know his real name I feel a tad silly calling him by his 'fake' name. But i've just got used to calling him Henry! But Benry sounds funny... so I could get used to that _________________
