Major spoilers for Remember Me, so no one read if you haven't seen the movie, unless you don't plan to!!!
Spoiler:
As a matter of interest, the final shot isn't him looking out the window (though that is he last time he's seen), the final shot of the movie is a close up of Emilie's characters face as she sits on a subway.
I think the ending made sense with the message of the film, which, the way I interpreted it was that tragedies strike all the time and you just have to take what you learned from the people you've lost, and move on with your life, while at the same time remembering them. I'm sure the fact that the movie ended with the September 11th attack, and it definitely was for the shock value - but I like twist endings so I was personally okay with it. They *may* have made people happier if they had at lest shown that the office he was in at the end was one of the Twin Towers - because we knew from the start that the movie was set in NYC in 2001, but didn't put the pieces together until the end.
I think...it balanced in a way.....but it will definitely still offend some people. But even if the Twin Towers *had* been shown earlier in the movie, people would be offended (maybe even more offended) and besides, if the Towers had been shown, the ending would be spoiled. This was the only way they could do the movie.

Just finished Afghan Star, a documentary about the Afghani version of American Idol. Really interesting. Setara Hussainzada... wow. 8/10 for the film, 10/10 for what Setara does (and for Lema Sahar as well, although she's less compelling.) _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. I needed me some John Candy so I am watching Canadian Bacon. Not the best comedy but I love John Candy and it is really relevant right now. USA declares war on Canada lol _________________

I never saw Book of Eli cuz someone came out of the theater that I was standing by and said -
Spoiler:
I can't believe he was blind the whole time!!
And I was like You suck! (in my head) and never bothered seeing it. lol Same for Valentine's Day, someone came out and spoiled it, though I ended up seeing that. I need to stop lurking outside of theaters. haha
The last movie I saw in theaters was The Runaways. It was pretty good. _________________

Inquiring minds want to know: Just what are you doing, hanging out there so suspiciously? _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
The last film I saw was Shutter Island and I loved it The atmosphere was really creepy throughout and I loved the ending although I knew the twist going in.
I'm reading the book now and it is pretty much identical to how the film played out so far...Anyone who liked the book before the film? I was wondering how well you felt it had been adapted. _________________

Those of you who don't hang out in the spam thread and haven't checked out the 'I just saw a Lostie in...' thread may not be aware of this very important way I spent a few hours today:
I rewatched The English Patient today. Eryn (HobbitRockGod), who remembered it better than I did (since I saw it in theaters a decade and a half ago), helpfully gave me several recommendations for scenes to pay attention to in that film. I very much approve of Eryn's movie critique!
Film: 8/10.
Cinematography: 10/10.
Film's effect in getting rid of the wretchedness of Rollerball: 10/10.
Naveen Andrews (you had to ask?): 10/10.
The scenes Eryn recommended to me: 100/10. (Yes, I know that's not a score. Those scenes mean I can watch 10 terrible films hereafter, though. Maybe not Rollerball, though. That thing had awful and terrible Battlefield Earth-esque powers)
... OK, so I am an easy mark for that film. Still, fan raves aside, I liked rewatching it! (And hated rewatching Rollerball, which I did not watch even to the halfway point.) So well done. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.
