It's possible that some names just wern't visible to us yet. Maybe Austin and more are there, just not a canidate. But for now it's a mystery as to why Jacob touched her, along with the other canidates, but she isn't one of them.

I think people can be crossed out even if they're not dead. They only get crossed out if they are no longer worthy of being a canidate.

There are LOADS of religious themes going on now. More than any season so far I think.

The graveyard scene was sooo reminiscent and sad in a way, but I loved it too.

I'm stumped too as to why Richard couldn't see the kid. Maybe the kid can choose who he wants to see him.

I'm not convinced that Sayid's gone darkside.

Because Jacob's note that Hurley delivered said if Sayid died they'd all be in trouble... I kinda still wonder if he's Jacob reincarnated.

I agree Elyse. I think so far it's score 1 for Jacob bringing Sayid to his "side" (or whatever he did, maybe he is Jacob incarnate but I'm thinking the blond boy is Jacob now) and score 1 for the man in Black for doing the converting Sawyer to his "side".

I think it's too easy to assume that they're picking and choosing people to be on their side. I think there is more to it than we are being presented with.

Someone got mad at me for saying that The Smoke Monster, MIB/Flock,Fake Locke (LOL) wants the island to himself. I honestly feel that way. Because bad people on Lost just never lie. Him saying it was just an island was to manipulate Sawyer, The Smoke Monster obviously knows it's not just an island. And then he got upset at me for assuming the Temple was his home. From what I have learned from watching Lost, it's a lot of reading between the lines, and using the hints and clues provided.

It almost seems like he's trying to manipulate ALL the names on the list to NOT want to take Jacob's spot. He took Jacob out for a reason. I don't think he wants a new Jacob. Smoke Monster Man In Black went after Sawyer first because he was easier to manipulate.

"James, probably when you were young and miserable and vulnerable. He came to you, he manipulated you, pulled your strings like you were a puppet. And as a result, choices you thought were made, were never really choices at all. He was pushing you, James. Pushing you.. to the island." That's exactly what Fake Locke is doing, coming at him when he is miserable and vulnerable. Easier to manipulate. He obviously is trying to get Sawyer AWAY from wanting to take leadership. I wouldn't be surprised if he went after everyone on the wall.

Once more, we agree on your unpopular opinions. (Is there some sort of petition I can sign?) I haven't got much clever to add, except to say that telling Sawyer, of all people, that he was manipulated and that Jacob pulled his strings is a sore spot for a con man. Telling Sawyer he's dumb, or an asshole, or anything else besides gullible wouldn't do anything but get a rise out of him.

To that end, I expect he'll go after:

* Jack by saying that he's incompetent/incapable
* Sayid by saying that he's bad/evil (and we've already seen hints of that with the whole pill debacle)
* Hurley by saying that he's a loser/a failure
* Jin/Sun by ... ? Possibly by trying to break up or weaken the marriage.

Just a guess, but I think it's a solid one.
