LOL! Very nice AP!
And oooohhh... I think I smell some conflict. Only wonder I really have is that I never thought of Locke as the cooking type, but hey... Maybe I've just been blind. lol. Great chapter Jen! |

I'm sure there were other words written around that but my Sawyer-lovin' little brain stopped right there...

Aww! Double AWW because it's probably the exact thing Steph WOULD do! We love ya and your parenting ways, Steph!
Also, am I reading the making of a porno? Not that I mind, because in my head Charlie talks in his lovely British accent all the way through. Errr... yeah, okay.
I'm worried that Claire or Sawyer might get voted off. But now I REALLY wanted to see a Sawyer/Claire alliance. Damn! _________________

A/N: I've taken the liberty of pulling the remaining Blue Team votes a little early because, honestly, I'm anxious, and it ended up making majority anyway, so my apologies ahead of time for being hasty, but I needed to write this before my muse left. KC, thanks for the prompting, and for creating a steady flow of mangsheng Anyway, here's the new ep, ladies and gents. Ais, don't choke on the popcorn!
The morning has come and is beginning to go after the remaining in the group of contenders has put in their vote. The Red Team looks especially glum, as it’s their second week in a row having to vote out one of their own. Everyone waits on tenterhooks for Ben to announce the results of the vote.
“The member of the Blue Team chosen to sit out the next Challenge is...” Ben’s voice says over the black television screen. As usual, the Black screen flashes white and, for the second week in a row, Paul’s name flashes on the screen in blue block letters before the screen goes back to black.
“Paul, you will be sitting out the next Challenge, again.”
“What the hell?!” Paul shouts, looking around at his teammates. Some of them look away or down, frowning. “Unbelievable,” he mutters angrily, throwing himself back against the chair backing violently.
“The member of the Red Team voted out of the game is...” Ben’s voice says next, letting the statement hang in the air.
Claire closes her eyes and when Charlie reaches to put an arm around her, she pushes him away. He looks over at Jen and she frowns.
The black screen flashes white and SAWYER is written in big red letters across the screen before it fades into black again.
“Sawyer, you have twenty minutes to pack your things and say your goodbyes before meeting me outside at the taxi to take you home,” Ben’s voice says, “In one hour’s time, the rest of you will meet me outside as well and I will take you to your next Challenge.”
Sawyer’s eyes go wide and he stands up, kicking the foot of the couch with his heel. “Yeah?” he asks, “fine.”
Claire looks over at Sawyer and her jaw drops slightly. She hadn’t seen this coming; she was certain that it was going to be her, regardless of Sawyer’s promise to protect her. Even if he’d meant it, there was nothing he could do to keep her in the game, now.
Swallowing hard, Jen looks down at the floor.
“You did this,” Sawyer growls at her.
Jen looks up at him with surprise in her eyes. “I’m one f*cking vote, Sawyer,” she mutters defensively.
“You and the Has-Been; you did this,” he repeats angrily. “Well you know what? That’s just fine, Princess, but you’ll be sorry.” Sawyer’s eyes flicker over and lock on Claire’s for a moment, but it’s long enough for Claire to know that he wants to talk to her, so when he storms out of the Community Room, leaving the Blue Team in shock and the Red Team in ashamed silence, Claire stands and leaves, too.
Charlie and Jen exchange a glance and then Jen shakes her head a little and looks away.
“Sawyer, wait!” Claire calls out as she jogs to keep up with his wide strides toward the Boy’s Hut.
“I need to pack,” he grunts as he throwing the door of the hut open violently and disappearing inside.
Claire hastens to a run and stops just in the doorway of the Boy’s Hut. “What do you mean they did this? Charlie and Jen, you mean?”
“Yeah, Charlie and Jen,” Sawyer snaps, picking up his suitcase and dropping it down angrily on the bed, yanking the zippers to open it.
“How?” Claire asks. What she doesn’t tell Sawyer is that she had trusted Jen and Charlie, and when they’d told her to vote him out...she had.
Sawyer shakes his head as he angrily shoves his belongings all into the suitcase. He looks over his shoulder at her. “You best watch yourself, Missy Claire...” he says, “because I’ll bet they gun for you next.”
Claire opens her mouth quickly to contradict him, but closes it before saying anything. Maybe Sawyer it right. Maybe he’s right about everything. She doesn’t have any proof that Charlie is cheating and on her and Jen has been so sweet and friendly to her ever since the moment they met; it doesn’t make any sense. Then again, Claire thinks, what reason does Sawyer have to lie about that?
“That’s what I thought,” Sawyer says when he sees her decide against telling him off. “I’m telling you, Mamacita; you’re next.”
She walks slowly into the room and lowers herself slowly down onto the bed across the room from Sawyer’s. “Well...” she starts slowly, willing herself not to cry, “what if you’re right?” she asks.
“I know I’m right,” Sawyer counters without looking up at her.
“Sawyer, I mean...” Claire starts and she bites her bottom lip, fighting the tears that are welling up in her eyes, “you’re going home, so now what do I do...?” she squeaks, trying not to let out a sob.
Sawyer freezes. She’s crying, he thinks, and there’s nothing he hates more than seeing a woman cry. Not that he’d ever tell anyone that, or hell, even admit it, but it’s the truth. “Claire...” he says slowly straightening up and turning toward her.
“No,” Claire finally lets out a sob, “I mean it! Now what? You said you’d take care of me and you can’t and if you’re right, I’m next, so now what do I do?!” she gasps as the tears flow down her cheeks. She covers her face with her hands and droops her head defeatedly.
Frowning, Sawyer drops the tee-shirt in his hands into the suitcase and walks over to the bed Claire is sitting on, sinking slowly down onto it beside her. “Please don’t cry,” he whispers, “I said I’ll take care of you and I’m gonna do my damnest to keep my word.”
Claire sniffles and lowers her hands, looking up at him. “How?” she asks.
Unable to help himself, Sawyer reaches over and wipes a new tear away from her eye with his thumb. “I’m gonna talk to Jack, okay?” he asks. He decides to try another tactic to make her smile. “I dunno why you’re gonna let that limey little runt make you cry, anyway, Mamacita. You’re too good for ‘im.”
Claire closes her eyes and sighs. “He’s all I have,” she admits softly.
Instinctively looking around to be sure he isn’t being watched when he’s about to shatter his own facade, Sawyer wraps his arms around Claire and gives her a hug. “You can do better. But right now,” he says, pulling away from her and looking her in the eye, “you need to make sure you stay in the game until the teams merge—I know they will; I used to watch Survivor all the time—and then you need to knock the Princess and the Has-Been out. You have to find your own way to the final whatever, but if you make it that far, I will make sure Jack takes care of you,” he promises.
Sniffling again, Claire finally smiles a little, but it’s a weak one. “There’s two of them and one of me...” she points out.
“There’s two other guys on the team and another girl, Claire. Strike up a new alliance. Sucks that ours didn’t work out, but you have options. I’d wager Nikki’s a safe bet. She’s about as bright as a burnt out lightbulb. All you gotta do is tell her she’s next up and that you want to change the game plan and start a new alliance. Maybe she’s already allied with someone else and you can just take it from there, otherwise talk up Warren and the other one...” his voice trails off.
“Marcus,” Claire supplies.
“And Marcus,” Sawyer finishes. “Maybe one of them will go with you on it. Talk to Nikki first; she’s your safest bet, however idiotic she is.”
Claire’s smile fades away again and she can feel her tears drying up. “Sawyer?” she asks as she sees him start to turn from her. He turns his head back to look at her, raising his eyebrows and Claire abandons all inhibitions, leaning forward and crushing her lips onto his.
Any train of thought Sawyer had completely disappears and he can’t help but take the opportunity placed before him. He returns her kiss briefly before she pulls away, blushing hard and touching her fingers to her lips, looking down at the floor.
Sawyer smiles and stands. “Go on and clean yourself up, Missy Claire,” he says, heading back to his own bed and packing the last of his things before zipping up his bag. “Go in there, act like nothing is wrong. And tell Jack to come out here; I wanna talk to ‘im.”
Standing, Claire nods. “Thanks, Sawyer,” she whispers and before he can respond, she leaves him alone, closing the door behind her.
Paul pulls his shirt off over his head with one hand and tosses it onto one of the patio chairs, walking down to the deep end of the pool before diving into the cold water. When his head breaks the surface, he reaches a hand up and pushes the hair out of his face. What’d he ever do to get voted to sit out not once, but twice in a row? The first time, he figures, was a fluke. But twice? Is he the next one on the list of the Ousted if his team loses?
“Jack?” Claire calls quietly from the doorway of the Community Room. Jack looks up from his conversation with Steph and Ruth and locks eyes with her.
“Yeah?”
“Sawyer wants to talk to you, he said,” Claire mutters, slowly making her way back into the community room. Her eyes drift away from Jack for a moment and she spies Nikki chatting amiably with Kate. Claire looks back at Jack. “In the Boy’s Hut.”
Nodding, Jack excuses himself from the two girls and makes his way to their sleeping quarters. He opens the door and lets himself in, spying Sawyer sitting on his bed, waiting. “What?”
“Well, hello to you, too, Doc,” Sawyer snorts derisively.
Jack shakes his head. “Forget it,” he mutters and starts back out.
“No, wait. Doc. Please?” Sawyer calls after him. Jack turns again and makes his way back into the room. “I need you to do me a favor.”
Raising his eyebrows, Jack looks Sawyer in the eye. “What’s that?”
“Take care of Claire,” Sawyer says simply.
Rolling his eyes, Jack sits down on the bed Claire has recently vacated. “How? She’s not even on my team,” he replies.
“Just...take care of her, all right, Doc? I promised her,” Sawyer sighs, resigned.
Jack pauses. “Why...?”
“Because she deserves it, okay?” Sawyer snaps.
A long pause falls between the two men and Jack sighs. “I’ll try.”
“‘s all I’m askin’,” Sawyer replies. He looks over at the clock. “I gotta go.”
Jack, too, looks over at the clock. “Yeah,” he confirms. “Take care of yourself.”
“You ain’t gonna see me off?” Sawyer jokes as he grabs his suitcase and starts toward the door.
Jack stands and shakes his head, smiling. “Yeah, I’ll see you off,” he laughs, following Sawyer out the door.
The group, sans Paul, gathers around outside as Sawyer loads his suitcase into the trunk of the taxi waiting outside the Community Room. Ben stands at the passenger front door, waiting.
Sawyer shuts the trunk and looks around at the group, noticing a missing face. “Where’s the other one?” he asks, not really caring.
“He’s probably pissed,” Kate replies softly.
“Yeah, I know the feelin’, Freckles,” Sawyer says snappishly.
“Quit being such a poor sport,” Jen speaks up, rolling her eyes.
“Only when you quit being such a bitch,” Sawyer retorts, not missing a beat.
“Sawyer!” Kate gasps.
“Oi,” Charlie shouts, “uncalled for. You’re being a real wank, you know that?”
“You know all about it, huh, Has-Been?” Sawyer asks, advancing toward him.
Charlie stands his ground, narrowing his eyes.
“Don’tcha?” Sawyer asks, getting right up in Charlie’s face.
Charlie says nothing.
“Whoa, whoa...” Warren starts.
“You shut up,” Sawyer snaps, “I ain’t talkin’ to you.”
“Easy,” Jack interrupts.
“Not your fight, Doc,” Sawyer says, refusing to break his stare with Charlie.
“James...” Locke begins.
“Mind your business, Mr. Clean,” Sawyer says, still not looking away from Charlie, “this is between us.”
“There’s nothing,” Charlie says, “you’re mad you’re out of the game. Well maybe if you weren’t such a–”
Sawyer swings his arm back and clocks Charlie on the left side of his face, just above his chin, with a closed fist. Charlie’s eyes go wide, just for a second, before he stumbles back into Ruth and Marcus. As Sawyer raises his fist to have another go and Charlie contorts his face in anger, but reflexively raises his arms to shield himself, Jack steps forward and between the two of them.
“Sawyer, what...?!” Jack starts.
Sawyer drops his fist and turns his head to spit at the ground. He looks back up and locks eyes with Claire. “Remember what I said.”
Claire nods and looks away.
“Sawyer, what the hell?” Kate asks as Marcus and Jack help Charlie back to his feet and Charlie raises his hand to his mouth to see if he’s bleeding.
Warren’s eyes go wide as he stares at the spectacle while Steph and Colin exchange glances, jaws slack with surprise.
“You’re lucky,” Sawyer snaps at Charlie, “that I’m goin’ home today.”
“F*ck you,” Charlie mutters.
“F*ck me?” Sawyer laughs. He nods and smiles. “So the Little Has-Been That Could is a big bad ass, now?”
“Come on, Sawyer,” Ben calls out, “time to go.”
Sawyer nods again. “Yeah,” he says. “Time to go.” He turns and leaves the group, but just before he gets to the taxi, he turns again. “Just in case anyone was curious...that hit was for Mamacita. Hopefully it’ll teach her poor excuse for a man to keep his parts to himself.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Charlie asks boldly. Jen cringes and shakes her head vigorously. Charlie doesn’t know that Sawyer knows about them and she can tell that Charlie’s challenge will be met easily.
“Means quit bangin’ Princess Bitch when you’ve got a perfectly good woman, already. And, actually, if you’re gonna keep up with your little side job...have the decency to lock doors so you don’t get caught again,” Sawyer says with a smile and disappears into the cab, slamming the door shut and staring straight ahead as Jen drops her head and grimaces.
Charlie’s eyes go wide and his face, as well as Jen’s, goes an angry, embarrassed red when the rest of the eyes fall on them both.
As the taxi drives away, Claire sniffles a little and leaves the stunned group in awed silence outside the hut, making her way in toward the kitchen to round out the back way and hide out on the beach.
“Jen, seriously?” Nikki asks, staring. Jen says nothing.
Ruth’s eyes light up with the information. She can’t wait to tell Paul that she was right about her inclination the night Aislynn and Jen kicked the two of them out of the Girls’ Hut, and now she even knows who the other person involved is.
“That’s horrible...” Steph whispers, staring at Charlie.
Marcus looks over at Jen, but when he can’t catch her eye, he gives up and heads inside. Warren and Ruth follow.
Kate stares after the taxi until it disappears and then her eyes fall on Charlie as he sinks back down to a sitting position on the ground, dropping his head into his hands. She frowns and shakes her head with disgust and she, too, goes inside. The rest of the group slowly filters back inside, leaving Jen, Jack, Steph, and Charlie alone outside.
“Come on, Charlie,” Jack says, reaching out a hand to help him up, sighing. Charlie’s jaw is swollen and his bottom lip is bleeding at the corner of his mouth. “Let’s get some ice.”
Charlie doesn’t take Jack’s hand, but rather stands on his own and follow Jack into the kitchen, avoiding the stares of the other players.
“You okay?” Steph asks, looking over at Jen.
Jen forces a weak smile. “I’ll live,” she sighs. She shakes her head and droops it back down, ashamed.
“Why Charlie?” Steph can’t help but asking.
Jen looks up and over at her friend, raising her eyebrows a little. “Can we not talk about this right now?” she asks.
Steph nods. “Sure,” she says softly.
“Thanks,” Jen replies, “I’ve done enough damage already...” _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me

*chokes on popcorn and spills it everywhere*
CLAIRE! Get your face off my man!
Aw, I love Protective Sawyer, though! *sniff* Trying to take care of Claire even though he won't be there anymore.
*new thought* Wait a minute. I'm out of the game... Sawyer's out of the game... We could be out of the game together, now couldn't we, huh?
*happy thoughts*
Oh man, I was really surprised to see Sawyer get the boot! I was bummed at first but then I got to thinking the above Happy Thoughts so... I loved the fight at the end, too. So in character!
It was all awesomely delicious!
