Holy sh**! Was that an amazing episode or what? Even the all time-low on Darylishness in this episode couldn't stop me from loving this ep!
Thank you for giving Dale a chance to shine again! It was about time! And I will kick Shane's pathetic ass if he'll do something to the old man!
Sorry to all the Shane-fans here, but sometimes I just hate his guts!!
Thank you for all the Glenn awesomeness and the amazing Glenn/Maggie moments! The boy is made of pure win and Maggie is growing so much on me with every new episode.
And this was probably the first episode in which I finally had some sympathy for Lori. I couldn't help but feel sorry for her and all the dilemma she's in. And Rick? Guh, he's just too good to be true!

Squee! Our boy is getting some love!!! _________________

Shane/Rick - "the man i love" - hehe these two
I totally enjoyed the Shane/Andrea moment...it was pretty hot and I love the way she grabbed him then gave him that smirk!! unf
I was really happy to see that Maggie does care for Glenn...for awhile it sorta seemed like that wasn't the case...but i love that she told him what he meant to her. I like that she really stuck up for him
I kinda feel sorry for Lori too...I was not expecting for the secret to come out then, but glad it's out...
..it wasn't as exciting or drama-filled as I thought it would be tho
and Daryl is always awesome _________________ Kimmy

Yay another TWD fan. I'm addicted
I'm risking the wrath of you guys here but I have found Darly's sudden character change to be a little jarring this year. He's been too much of a good guy this season! Would he really have given T-dog those drugs so easily, not to mention save his life when he basically hated his guts last season? Appreciated the snarkiness towards Rick we got but it has been few and far between. I love his character though! _________________

Don't worry, Paul, we're not gonna hate you for saying this
Well, I think that Daryl always had it in him, being a good guy with a good heart. I'd say that he was more edgy and snarky last season because he had just "lost" his brother in some way. He was upset and angry at T-Dog, at Rick, at the world. I guess that he quickly realized though that he'd need those people - and they'd need him - in order to survive. He may not be the type of person to bond with others easily, but he's not like Merle, you know. He's not a racist, he's not a sexist, he does have a heart. (Well, I guess that Merle does too but we haven't seen too much of it yet ) That's why he gave the pills to T-Dog, that's why he saved T-Dog's life when T-Dog was bleeding badly and about to being attacked by a Walker, that's why he's trying to find Sophia. (And I don't think that he hates T-Dog. I'd rather say he was very pissed at him for losing the key, you know)
I agree with you though: I, too, hope that Daryl won't lose his edges. He needs to be somewhat badassy. I don't think he will though. He's got too much of a temper _________________

Its all good Paul we wont attack We will defend to the death, however
I think with Daryl, especially bringing Merle back into it even just in his subconscious, you see how much just the memory of his brother effects him and alters who he is. Clearly he thinks of his brother like his hero, and I think we'll see Daryl go more dark side especially with Carol treating him so well. He's not used to it and doesn't know how to react to it. ANd he's never mentioned his mother, so I get the feeling his life has been hard upon hard, which is why he adapted so well to the zombie world. _________________

You bet we will!
I must say that I have very mixed feelings on the Daryl/Merle-relationship. Daryl really cares about his brother and wants to find him, I'm sure of that, because... well, he's family and you just don't give up on family, right?
Does he think of Merle as his hero though? I'm not so sure of that.
I think there are a lot of hard feelings here. Daryl mentioned once or twice (to Andrea and in his daydream-like conversation with Merle) that Merle never really cared about him. I think that Merle was a source of motivation for Daryl, but not necessarily in a good way. He probably kept telling him all this stuff about having to be a man and I imagine that he must've been putting a lot of pressure on him, wanting Daryl to become like himself... when clearly he's not like Merle. Being treated like this leaves a lot of self-doubts, a lot of scars. (Just as with Carol and her husband actually). I reckon that he must love Merle because Merle must have some good sides, too, and, well, yes because he's family but I really doubt that he's looking up to him... or maybe not anymore? _________________

I did really appreciate that scene with him and Merle (even though I was disappointed it wasn't the real Merle) because it did give more of an insight into how he really feels about his brother and more of a justification for him actually caring about these people as opposed to Merle. Just feels like we haven't been shown to much why he cares for them so much. For example they could have shown him and Sophia bonding a bit and then thats why he cares for her safety so much when she goes missing and squishy good Daryl sprouts from it
I think that in season 1 he got such a good fan response that they have softened him for season 2 and it was such a short season they never really had a chance to touch on any kind of a transition of character.
Hopefully we will get a Daryl centric episode when he flashes back to his childhood although that might get a bit too much like Lost _________________

Apparently a cast member wanted to walk out but has since changed their mind. Not much of a story but it intriges me who it was.. according to the article it's linked to Frank Darabont's departure and that they still might be leaving cause they pissed off producers.

I reckon it's Dale or Andrea cause they have worked with him before. _________________

Ok, yeah, I agree that it seemed kinda out of the blue. Since they didn't give us a real explanation on the show, I was drawing my own conclusion for Daryl trying so hard to find Sophia from Daryl's Cherokee Rose speech.
I think he's trying so hard to help Carol because he knows what it feels like to lose a member of your family, someone you love. And I guess he must know that for Carol it's even more devastating since Sophia - in contrast to Merle - is still so little and helpless.

Gah!
In the article, it says that the character may still be written off the show because the change of mind came rather late
I hope it's not happening!
I'm also rather nervous about Frank Darabont leaving the show. I'm afraid it won't be much good for the show when he's gone
What happened anyway? Why is he leaving? _________________

Btw, what do you guys think of the whole Sophia-situation? Will we see her again alive? Or dead? Or "zombiefied"?
I want to see her again alive, of course. (And that could also imply some new characters because Sophia wouldn't have survived so many days on her own, imo). I'm scared as hell though that she'll be dead... or that she's become a Walker
Just the mere thought of the effect this would have on Carol... (And Daryl, and Rick )
Nonono, she needs to be alive!!! _________________

I drew my own conclusions aswell, that because he was treated so bad as a kid, that's why he has a soft spot for them. I really liked that story he told but there's a part of me that wonders why he'd even know or care about that native american story.

He already left after season 1. I'm really glad it still is maintaining a real high level of quality and has put my fears to bed that it wouldn't be the same without Frank. I'm not sure of all the details but AMC did cut the budget for season 2 so maybe that had something to do with it.

I still want her to be dead I feel mean saying that but anything else would seem a bit of an anti climax right now and pretty unbelievable unless someone took her under her wing.. but who is around except walkers and Hershel's group?
By the way Norman Reedus (Daryl - like you needed telling) is going to be on that chatshow "The Talking Dead" so I can upload it on monday for you if you like. _________________

Ah, ok, I didn't know that. Well, they're still doing pretty good, even without Frank working on the show. Fingers crossed it'll stay that way!

Noooo, she can't be dead. Kat and I were talking about this in the Spam thread and we both agreed that if Sophia turns out to be dead that would probably be the end of Carol as well. I mean, I really like her as a character, but I doubt that her storyline would be strong enough with the kid gone, you know. I'm really afraid they'll kill her off soon if Sophia's dead.

Yes, yes, please!!
I saw some interviews with Norman on YT. He's really fun to watch, so I'm sure it'll be great.
Thank you, Paul!! _________________

Yeah that's a good point.. it would probably spell the end for Carol too. If I really had to choose a character to be killed off it would probably be Carol though.. Not that I hate her or anything but I'd rather her than anyone else and I'm worried they are gonna kill off people :S
Her and Daryl together is really great though. Is Carol too old for Daryl? Because them two together, Carol and Daryl would be just too cute xD _________________

I think for me it would be T-Dog. Same as with you, Paul: I don't hate him but there are characters I care more about, including Carol.

Kat and I were discussing this as well
The actors are only about four years apart (i.e. Norman is about four years younger), but I guess that people probably think she's too old for him because Norman looks really, really young for his ages. Can you believe that he is in his early fourties already?
I love Daryl and Carol together, too. They have a great chemistry, they've both been through similar sh** in their lives, they would be good to and for each other - whether as friends or as a couple.
I reckon that the writers will probably have to take the romantic path though to keep people interested in Carol. (Well, all that depending on the outcome of the whole Sophia-story, of course).
There seem to be a lot of people though who already hate the idea of Daryl & Carol being together in a romantic way, arguing that she is too old or too ugly and stuff like that
I wouldn't mind them being a couple - they're really cute together - but the writers should take it slow, imo, don't you think? It would just be the same thing again as with the sudden change of his character. It would happen kinda quickly.
Ah well, I guess we'll see on Sunday/Monday. _________________

I would have said at least 10 years between them. Daryl does look really young! So I guess he is a sugar daddy to you and Kat then?
I dunno why people feel the need to say an actress is ugly.. she is actually not that bad looking. If she grew her hair out she'd be even better looking imo.
I could deal with T-dog dying aswell I suppose. I'm glad they kept him around for so long though because there's always that stereotype where the black guy gets killed off first lol _________________
