I also don't think Charlie is another "Dave" because Hurley isn't the only one to have seen him. You could say the other guy who saw him was crazy, but still... If he wasn't real, only Hurley would have seen him.
I'm sorry you were upset by this episode, Jemma. Hopefully you'll enjoy next week's. |
Thanks. I was just a bit surprised by his actions. But that could just be because I'm so used to seeing him morbidly depressed now And yeah, I thought before I saw the episode he was the one who started that whole "We have to go back" thing so that was good. |
To me it seemed that he was acting more like Dom then like Charlie. Did anyone else get that impression? I don’t know…he just seemed different. I don't know why but it didn't feel like it was the old Charlie talking. He seemed changed, and a little distant. Like when he said.
"Because you would have tried to stop me. And since I was gonna do it anyway I thought I would spare you all the drama."
It just didn't seem like something the old Charlie would have said to his friend who was upset. I would have though that he would have been a little nicer.

I got exactly that impression! I just sat there thinking "hmmm..Dom?"
I didn't think it was like him when he put a hand to his head and got impatient with Hurley
For some reason I found that strange, probably because I'm so used to him acting so sad and serious now |

I like how they had Charlie start the "we have to go back" thing. I think he started it because CLaire is still on the Island along with everyone else. (unless she was part of the Oceanic 6...I forget who was) |
I agree about Charlie acting more like Dom! It was kinda weird - I couldn't really put my finger on how he was acting different, but I just knew he was acting more like Dom than Charlie himself.
I disagree with you about his comment to Hurley, though - we all know Charlie can be a bit tactless at times, especially to Hurley, so I thought that part of it seemed like Charlie.
Maybe he was acting more distant because he knew he was still dead so he didn't want to get used to seeing his friends again,,. idk, something I just thought of.
I bet he started the "we have to go back" thing because of Claire too. I wonder if he appears to Jack later on and that's where he got the idea, because in that episode, Jack was adament about not going back to the island. _________________

I thought that Charlie was acting more like the person I thought he was than the person we've been seeing for the last season. He seemed to act more like he did before Desmond told he was going to die. Snarky and sarcastic, impatient, not very nice at times... It seemed like him to get impatient with Hurley. But I dunno. I'll probably re-watch the ep soon, so I'll have to revise my opinion then. _________________

*hmm* I know what you mean. But I guess I just wasn't expecting that snarkyness to be used in that situation. I'm not too sure either.
Putting aside the Charlie talk for a short moment..I have to say the only OMGWTF moment I had was when the gun clicked when Jack had it pointed at Locke. That was awesome. I think I laughed too. I know, I'm evil. |

I really couldn't believe Jack would have actually killed Locke! I can't get over how different he is! Haha, he totally got pwn'd by Locke, though. _________________

I think Jack has just been pushed to the limit as far as Locke goes and he just kind of snapped at that moment! I'm sure he would have regretted it later!

Sometimes I think Jack cares more about gettting off the island that he won't let anything hold him back. Not even Charlie's message. I find it typical of him to ignore Charlie's last message in order to get "rescued."
Though Locke was a bit of an annoyance in the season 3 finale so I don't blame Jack for going crazy on his ass. Though I couldn't believe how they were still going on about Naomi's death as if it were more important then Charlie's.... |

No, I don't blame Jack for flipping out, I guess, but I thnk he and Locke have both gone insane.
"Everything I have ever done, I have done for the good of us all!"
"Are - you - INSANE?!?"
Lol, I liked that part.
But of course Jack would ignore Charlie's message. All he cares about now is getting off the island. And going against Locke. And Locke wants to stay. So Jack wants to leave.
Hey, did Desmond go with Jack or with Locke? I would think he'd go with Locke, because of Charlie, but I don't remember seeing him with Locke. _________________

Yeah, When Jack also put the gun to Locke and there were no bullets in it that's when I thought that man is bloody indistructable. He survives anything.
I don't know how most the characters ignored Charlie's message. But for me it's Desmond the most. |

yeah, it was kind of unclear to me who actually stayed with Jack b/c that last scene it was just Kate and Jack...hmmm I'm pretty sure Sayid and Juliet stayed...I don't know about Des.

I think Desmond is still holding on to the hope that Penny is there to rescue him

| Yeah. In a way I thought he would have had the most reason to go with Locke, when he was there when Charlie wrote it on his hand and knew Penny was on the small tv. |

I know! I can't believe he would just ignore Charlie like that!
But I think Des is a bit blind when it comes to Penny... _________________

I thought Des went with Locke. He was the one yelling at the others as soon as he reached the beach that it wasn't Pennys boat!
I was confused how many people went with Jack too. Like rose and bernard, they weren't mentioned in the Oceanic six. You could say it's 'cause they're not completely main characters but then why wouldn't they be part of the group in the show because in the show they're referred to as the Oceanic 6. |
