Aw what a lovely story Julia! The scenes really meshed well together. Really great to see a Shayid video from you. I really liked your manips with Shannon at the restaurant and Nadia's picture. The audio at the start with Sayid telling them he needed to leave because he shot Keamy worked really well.
Your logo is super cute I love it haha

Not very noticeable but some of your shots have interlacing artifcats in them be careful with your video clips and if you are ripping from dvds or such you need to deinterlace the video.

I think the only interlacing artifact was in the scene where Shannon is in the restaurant, and that clip is actually from one of the deleted scenes and I didn't rip it myself. I looked and looked but could not find another clip of that scene, unfortunately, and that was the one I really wanted to use. I am scared to death of ripping stuff myself for that very reason! LOL!!!

Yeah I guess that was just one scene. The motion of the video seems to be blurry in parts too like the barman part and Shannon on the beach figured this was interlacing problems but maybe it's something else. Could be my laptop monitor though it's not the best! Like I said it's not noticeable I just tend to pay attention to stuff like that particularly at the moment as I have been having issues with my media player having stuttered motion.

Hooray for Dueling Sayid Contest Videos! (Mine'll be up by Friday.)
I liked the manip of Shannon finding Nadia's picture; that was well done.

actually worked despite the repetition. (Although at first, I wasn't entirely sure what to think of that bit of dialogue.)
I liked the generally oversaturated look of the shots and the pace of the video--nothing felt too fast, which considering you have a very slow song, is good. Additionally, nothing dragged on for 10 seconds or anything like that.
You have a clear storyline going on here (which seems to be one criterion for AUs) and everything plays towards that, making the narrative tight and well-constructed.
Slight critique: The 'I can't stay here...' bit was a little miscued with Sayid's mouth. (Sorry, I've seen too many badly dubbed films and catch those things.) _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Yeah, I looked and looked for other affirmative answers that would work instead of her saying "sure" a second time, but unfortunately there weren't many and none of the others worked because of tone, rapidity of speech, or slurring into another word.
As for the "I can't stay here", I couldn't really get it perfect since that's not what he was actually saying, and because there is a very brief amount of footage usable in that scene where he isn't smiling. Obviously smiling wouldn't have been appropriate so I just had to go with it being not perfectly cued.
I am looking forward to seeing yours when it's all finished!

Oh, that was a beautiful AU! That made me remember how much I loved Shayid all over again! ♥! I loved all of the manipped moments and great job on faking out Elsa as Shannon! I really enjoyed that so much, that was lovely work!

Awww firstly the beginning of the vid was very cute
You chose a beautiful song, this has to be one of my favourite vids by you
I liked the au scene with Shannon as like a mini flashback of hers
I thought the beach scenes worked great as like a 'holiday' resort
Awesome job and one of your best vids IMO Good luck in the contest

aww...poor neglected Shayid... the audio manips were great; altho i felt the dialogue was run together really fast in places, like the beginning, and the scene where Sayid tells his brother and Nadia he's leaving; it moved very quickly but the AU scenes were so great; i loved shannon finding the nadia photo, and then meeting in the airport well done!!! _________________

Kat: Thanks! Yeah, the audio during the bomb drop was tricky because that speech is really long, but I felt it was important to my story so I just had to go with it. I really tried to use only the scenes that were absolutely necessary to establish settings and tell my story, but it still ran close to four minutes, so unfortunately I couldn't avoid a rushed dialog.
This has definitely been one of my most highly criticized videos, but it was also my first attempt at an AU, so hopefully it wasn't too bad taking that into account. I guess I still have a lot to learn! I had a blast with it, though!

Oooh I loved this Julia!!! It was really awesome how you brought them together on a tropical resort, that was a clever move and really well pulled off with the bar and pool shots added in there I loved how you led up to them going there too, so it wasn't like they just randomly happened to be there I really liked how you kept the scene of him dropping off his bag but then showed him picking it up again too Brilliant!! I think this is one of my favorites of yours, I really enjoyed it!!! Awesome work hun!!!!
