My mom thinks Henry looks like an alien.
Anyone else think "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown, Desmond as the Carmelengo at the end? _________________

Well, in some way, yes. Both were really heroic towards the end, but I had the impression that the Carmelengo was a bit of a fanatic and kindascary. Desmond is a bit weird, too, but I think it's because he'd been down there for so long. But I quite like him _________________

(Ps. Hobbes, you mentionned Buffy and Lost in the same paragraph. You've disgraced Lost Wink Sorry, but I hate Buffy. Loved the start, first 2-3 series, but after that it just fell to pieces and went so ridiculous and random it was just unbearable, both characters and plots suffered greatly. Yes Whedon took risks, but he did it wrong and ruined it all. Just my 2 cents though! Razz ) |
Yet another example of how people will like completely different things from all these shows I didn't like the first 3 seasons, but LOVED the later ones ("The Body"?!? Come on, you gotta like that!)

Sorry.
NO! No need to apologize at all!!! Im sorry!!

LMAO
I somehow doubt that event ever will be crystal-clear. Even Locke's speech in the finale, to me seemed like Locke blaming himself for leading Boone and making him think the hatch was important, when all it was was a stupid button in a box. I know he blames himself for putting Boone in that situation, and often tries to write the whole event off as nothing he could do to stop it ("It was a sacrifice that the island demanded"), but I don't think he really kewit woudl happen beforehand, especially since he was yelling at Boone to get out of the plane. That's where we have a difference of opinion though, and I can definitely see Rocksiren's side. It's just an ambiguous case at that point, which is why it's so arguable.

I'm totally with you here, Warren. Season 2 had some very good episodes ("Maternity Leave", for example, was great), but unfortunately some very weak ones, too.

here here lol.
I think this finale may be my favourite Lost ep. Still debating it with Walkabout though.
Nah, Walkabout was still better, because of one thing:
The flashbacks were still the weakest parts EVEN when they're for some mysterious character. The on-island flashback stuff was okay, but still.
Please Lost, cut flashbacks at some point PLEASE! |

I liked Desmond's flashback's what was wrong with them? I do think some have been crap this season though (Jack's in HP and Michael's in Adrift are the worst for me) They shouldn't drop them altogether but they should move away from the character flashback episodes because it forces them to tell the on island story from just one character's persepective and that is not always the right one. When it is justified make it about just one character but otherwise shift between people's flashbacks as the story demands it. _________________

don't get me wrong, they were better than most flashbacks, but they were still pretty forced, what with that discontinuation of that Jack scene DS pointed out, and the Libby/Desmond thing I'd rather have no flashbacks at all than the ammount we have now, but if they change the structuring of them to "when we need them" rather than every ep I'd be happy too. |

Mmkay, I'm late, but heck, I haven't been on LVI since before the ep aired.
BRILLIANT episode. Loved it, from beginning to end. Am currently watching it again! But, fangirl that I am, have to say my two favorite parts were the Charlie/Claire kiss (anyone surprised? *waits* *silence* *crickets chirping*) and the Desmond/Penny storyline. Now THAT'S what a love story should be. And it's certainly not coincidence that her name is Penelope. _________________

Is it just my imagination or were the flashbacks really longer than in Season 1? I sometimes had the impression that the flashbacks were getting longer and the on-island-stories shorter.
Oh, and another thing: So Mr.Friendly/Zeke is a "Tom", too, huh? This makes him... what... the 5th or 6th Tom? _________________

Lessee...
TOM - Kate's dead ex-boyfriend with the toy plane
THOMAS - Claire's jerk ex-boyfriend with the "I don't want to be a daddy" issues
TOMMY - Charlie's kinda creepy and definitely bullyish ex-dealer with the criminal behavior
TOM - the name Ana-Lucia bestowed on Jack's Dead Daddy with the alcohol issues
TOM - Mr. Friendly/Zeke with the honesty issues
That makes five. Did I miss any? We need to have a post just to keep a running count of the number of people named "Tom" on this show. _________________

Wow, nice one!!!
Thats not a surprise considering how un-creative they are with names- Jack, James, John. Ana, Desmond and Eko seem to have unusual ones, obviously. _________________

Locke is different, but John Locke is copied from a philosopher. I also think that Desmond was a real scientist who lived in a dome. And Henry Gale was from the Wizard of Oz...Jesus.
The only name that doesn't seem to be un-creative or copied is Mr. Eko. That's an interesting name. I think Ana might be a typical Spanish name.
Claire ain't so bad. _________________
