I think the alt-reality is just where they went when they died, whether it was before the end of the show, like Boone and Shannon, or years and years later, like Hurley, Kate, Claire, Sawyer, etc. Since Ben didn't come into the church with everyone, does that mean he's still alive? I hadn't really thought about that... |
Actually, I think that Ben is still alive considering he wasn't at the church with everyone else who died and Ben wasn't ready to let go, the same with Ana-Lucia.
All of the characters dying at different times really confused me at first, but now I'm starting to get it |
He was dead just not ready to move on.
We're lead to believe that this is YEARS after Jack died and the plane flew over his head.
I think everyone in that AU was dead. Alex and Danielle.
I never viewed Ben as a healthy part of their lives. He only joined up with Jack's side after he realized he wasn't getting the island. So I kind of don't think he would have been welcomed in there with open arms. |

After sitting in my room like the whole day and thinking about the finale i thought it's time to post what i think about it.
I watched it on line with probably many of you.Since I live in Eastern Europe i don't get the ep before early in Wednesday usually. But for that ep i was wandering whether to watch it live on the net or wait till the next day and of course I wanted to know so bad to know what the ending is and i wanted to watch it with all the fans around the world.
I think that the FINALE was absolutely great! The last 10 minutes blow my head off...Jack/Christian,all survivours in the church hugging and just smiling....they were all dead...i was thinking about this before but i never thought that it would end like this...there was a similar theory on the net long ago but it was something about the island being hell....anyway
JATE....i knew it will be Jate in the end...i was kind of sad because they didn't get the chance to live together after the island, have kids and grow old together but their ending...together in heaven was satisfying enough or me!
And it's deffinitely time to inish my vid!!!
I cried first when Sun and Jin remembered...it was sooo beautiful and amazing, then Charlie/Claire .... Kate remembering while helping Claire deliver...i almost forgot Shannon and Sayid!!!
The last scene with Jack's eye closing brought me to tears again...so beautiful and sooo sad so so sad...I've been thinking about it the whole day and i completely agree with what Hobbes said Quote: | I think this finale did that aspect justice. In the end, it wasn't about the mystery at all. It was about the characters who we have watched respond to the mystery for 6 seasons. It gave us closure with the people the audience has fallen in love with. And it did it with beauty. |
Lost may be over but it will deffinitely not be forgotten!I've lived with their fates and lives for six years and even though the Losties let finally go I'm not ready yet to let them go....!!! _________________ It’s been a long year

I woulda welcomed him. Heehee. Really, though, I went back and forth with Ben a lot... But by the end I realized I really do love Ben. And he loved the Island more than anything, I think. So I'm really pleased with his ending, as Hurley's "Richard", I guess. _________________

What an ending. It was so perfect. <3
Here's my interpretation of the altiverse - dunno if this is what the rest of you think bc I haven't read the entire thread.
Many years after 815 crashed, once everyone on the island had died, be it from old age or getting shot at the age of 20, they made there way into this alternate universe, a world created so they could find each other. Once they remembered the island, they became the person they had been on the island, and they could finally go off and be together - wherever they were meant to be.
Shannon and Boone. <3 So happy to see them again - especially Shannon, since we really haven't seen her since she died. Gwah, I love her. :'( Wish she'd had more than the one line.
I loved when Sun and Jin finally remembered the island. And giggled when they started speaking English - love how Juliet takes everything in stride! Ah, Juliet, I've been waiting to see her too!!
PB&J reunion made me cry. I've been waiting so long to see them happy together! It almost makes up for Claire having like 3 lines in the real timeline, and never getting Charlie's ring. Oh well. They are happy together with Aaron, and Aaron, too, was where he was supposed to be - with Claire.
I loved Hurley going to get Charlie! He looked so happy to see him! And Charlie's just like, "wtf go away." So they kidnapped him. Awesome.
Charlie seriously needed to lose the eyeliner, though. That looked just plain BAD.
So, so thrilled Claire finally got off the island. That got me teary as well. I'm still not a fan of Kate's whole "lol we're BFFs" thing, but I'll live. As long as Claire gets her son back, I'm happy.
Ah, Sawyer. I loved the Suliet reunion - another moment I got teary over. That was so sweet! And I really loved Sawyer's reference to "the burning bush" on the island. Just continues to show how well-read Sawyer is. ^^
Anyone else think of Lord of the Flies when Jack kicked FLocke off the cliff? You know, when Piggy died? God, I hate that book, but that imagery was just so similar to the one used of Piggy after he died that I couldn't help making the connection.
I loved that they ended with Jack's eye closing. I really thought Jack died a hero - well, he absolutely did, not doubt about it. Jack truly redeemed himself for me. I'm never going to be able to go back and like him in the earlier seasons, but it's nice to know the show ended with me actually liking the "main" main character.
And Vincent lying down next to him as he died. What a good doggie. _________________

I am so relieved to see that most of you loved it!!!
I saw a few people wondering about when everyone died and why they seemed to all show up at once. I think the thing to remember is that there was no time in the alt-reality. They may have been feeling time individually as they each lived out their ideal lives, but some of them died many years later. They all died at different times, but it only *seemed* like they all showed up at once since there is no "now".
Another thought I had is that I think Kate's "ideal life" (being on the run like she loved to be, but not actually being guilty of a crime) speaks to the fact that she probably lived a really long and happy domestic life with Claire and Aaron. She got to live that life so she wanted one more shot at the uncertainty and adventure of being on the run.
So freaking awesome! _________________

I already told Nikki, Kat, that since they never showed us what happened to Kate and co and kind of left it for us to imagine, I've decided that we were right all along. The thought of her losing her entire family (Jack and Aaron) is too depressing so I like to think that she was pregnant after all and so not only did she get to keep a little piece of Jack until she met him again in the afterlife, but she finally got to be a mother for real. I could see her devoting herself to their child from then on the same way she did with Aaron. Her saying "I've missed you so much" etc made it seem as if Jack really was the love of her life so it's hard to imagine her moving on from him. The way she begged Jack to tell her she would see him again made me think that she spent the rest of her life waiting for him (consciously or subconsciously): either for him to come back from the island or for her to die so that she could be with him again. _________________

I just find it hard to believe if she lived till old age that she wouldn't have been with someone else and shared love with them. That goes for Sawyer and Claire respectively too but hey it still got me teary so it did it's job The only real justified ship is shayid _________________

Yeah...she ended up with Richard and Sawyer ended up with Claire.
I've always wanted to do a Richard/Kate vid. LOL.
Plus I shipped ConMama too.
I'd like to think that Sawyer reconnected with his daughter, but not with Cassidy. I lost respect for her in season 5. |

Found some answered via E!'s Kristin
MiB's name was actually Samuel, they had given him a name, but took it out of the script.
The "Kwon" on the list was actually Jin, Sun crossed off because she became a mother
In S3, the person in Jacob's cabin who uttered "help me" was MiB in Christian Shephard's form. It was also MiB's eye that Hurley saw.
What happened to Walt will be answered in the DVDs
There are some more questions, most answered with theories, one is answered, but it pertained to weather changing.

*high five for Shayid* I was SOOO happy to see them together again. Like whoa. I squeed. Also I squeed at Boone.
And *gigglesnort* at the Supernatural reference, Paul. Sammy Winchester is much, much cooler than MIB. _________________

I was glad to see Boone but I thought his scene was so cheesy. "Should I go get them?" And that face he made when Hurley told them to wait. I laughed out loud at the cheese.
I think we needed to see more of Boone (In the other world) like we saw everyone else after the landing but him. Which was most likely to do with Vampire Diaries, I know. LOL. |
