Thanks Kat! Credits vids are always hard to hit the beats, get the text on there, and try to have equal time for all the actors. _________________ Heather |

Liked the zoom-in to the water at :18 or thereabouts.
Font critique (since it's credits): An outline around the letters would have made them stand out more. In footage like Sawyer's, with 'Josh Holloway' at the bottom, or the start of Claire's, with 'Emilie deRavin,' the light color of the background washes out the text. I am pretty sure Vegas lets you outline texts, assuming you're using that.
Curiosity, not critique: Did you play around with the placement of the text? I don't think it needs to move around, but I'm curious if you tried having different text in different places throughout, since I know the real Lost credits shift back and forth from left to right.
Liked the ending punch-punch too.
Does 'Adelita's Way' have a hyphen in it? _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Jemma: Thanks so much!
Kate: Thank you! Yeah I use Vegas, but I never seem to have much luck outlining text, it usually comes out a bit grainy. I did notice the washed out parts but since most of it showed up, I left it alone. OMG yes I moved the text around a lot! Nothing looked exactly how I wanted it but where I left it ended up looking the best. No, Adelitas Way doesn't have a hyphen. I think I did hyphenate it in my first vid to a song by them, but now I know the band much better and it is just "Adelitas". _________________ Heather |

Supposedly I teach English... I meant apostrophe, not hyphen. That's what I get for critiquing in the cafe at work.
I understand about the graininess, and that's probably due to the font you're using (I've done graphic design; fonts are one of my things, as it were.) Try outlining on a smoother font (sans-serif will give you the least grain) in Vegas and see what it does. The only fonts I've used in Vegas thus far are one Arabic-styled font ("Pseudo Saudi"), white-on-black, and one grunged-out fake Olde Englische font ("Bill Hicks"--yes, the comedian), white-on-black, so I haven't had a lot of outlined text. I'll see if I can figure out an optimal setting too! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I have a TON of fonts so I'm always playing around with different ones.
about the hyphen - after I posted my reply, I was thinking, wait a minute, that would be an apostrophe! _________________ Heather |

These were awesome Heather! I really loved your use of the underwater island scenes. They looked so great 'swooping' though with the music! Fantastic job, your beat use was amazing! |

Thanks Emma! Yeah, I thought that shot looked cool instead of some kind of transition or effect. _________________ Heather |
