i loved this ending, so nice to have reunions again Hurley and Miles hug was 'dorable

I'm loving Ilana too!! i've been wanting to vid her for awhile but she hasn't had many highly emotive scenes, thank you Dr. Linus!!

I think she's interesting. Personally it seems that a lot of the people are going MIB we need some good people right now! LOL.

I loved when Ben was like "The island got you in the end". But Frank didn't have to endure Ben's 'Other' scheme. LOL

I often wonder if Jacob had a life. Like perhaps he was once 'picked and chosen'. Maybe MIB and Jacob were candidates.

I wonder how long the island has been 'alive' and if there was always someone in charge of it.

I still don't buy MIB wanting to leave the island. I think he's using all the people he recruited.

Okay, wow...yeah...so I know we're not getting a lot of answers, but as a character-centric & one of those character building episodes, I have to say, this was probably one of the best this season.

And by god, Michael Emerson deserves another Emmy for that monologue he did alone. That was fantastic acting on his part and I actually had to go back & watch it again, just because it was so moving & amazing.

Here are my thoughts:

1. Honestly? I'm not digging Illana. I want to know what her connection is to Jacob & why she's there, but that's all she has going for her. If they can just get that out and then kill her off, I'll be happy. As a character, she has no depth and I really feel no connection or compassion for her. I feel like she's been thrown into this whole thing without being developed at all (apart from her whole little "jacob's guardian" thing) and yeah, I'm growing tired of her. Particularly when great characters like Ben and Desmond are either sat on the sidelines, or nowhere to be found.

2. I absolutely loved the parallels in this episode. Mainly, I found Ben's flash-sideways far more interesting than what was happening on the island. The whole set up of Ben being this self-pitying loser, who gets one taste of power & decides to go for it. And the fact that Locke was the one who placed that idea in his head....that was big. I don't know - i just found that whole little arc fascinating. Alt-Ben is a very interesting character....

3. I also thought it was good to see Roger again, and him not being too terribly mean. Seems like them getting off the island was a good thing & brought them a bit closer together. I don't think if Roger had been an ass Alt-Ben's whole life, that he'd still be taking care of him.

4. Poor Richard. He made me weepy. I don't like defeated, suicidal Richard!!

5. I know I've already made mention of Ben's speech at the end, but that "He's the only one who'll have me" seriously broke my heart!!


This was a really good episode. And I got really excited seeing Widmore on the sub. Maybe this means things will start picking up soon....

Needless to say, I floved the Richard and Jack scenes in the Black Rock I was like, OMFG RICHARD DON'T DIE!!!!!!!!

SO glad Ben didn't die either, I floved the bit when Illana went "I'll have you" and he followed her and I was like, yaaaay, Ben's staying team Jacob!

I also floved alt-Ben's relationship with alt-Alex and Ben talking to Illana about losing Alex.... awww so bittersweet :')

Another fun thing about this episode? Ben actually deals with sex a little bit!

First in finding Sawyer's dirty mag, and then when Alex tells him about the principal boinking the nurse. You could tell he was kind of disturbed by it both times he encountered it. Maybe including those things were the writer's way of confirming that Ben's never gotten any before

ALEX!!!!!!

Can't tell you how excited I was to see her.....and I was SO SO happy Ben kind of "saved" her, persay, in the alternate universe. In real-time, Ben gave up Alex for power.....in alt!time, he gave up power for Alex, like Elyse said earlier (we were talking about this, hehe). Which was really sweet. I love the alternate timeline, it's so fun to see what everyone's lives would've been like,

Interesting that Ben and his dad were getting along....and they WERE on the island at some point! Weirdness!

As for Jack and Richard....well, I'm really disappointed that Richard has lost his faith. That's saddening because I thought Ricahrd was someone who'd always kind of be sure of himself....

Jack still wants to be in control. The thing with the dynamite was all a big test for Jacob - like, "You want me here that bad? WELL WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF I TRIED TO KILL MYSELF?!" That's how I took that. I don't know that he cared all that much about Richard.

I'm glad Ben stuck with the good side. I'm glad Ilana didn't kill him. I don't like her.....she reminds me of Ana Lucia and sorry, but I never liked her.

My favorite line of this episode was, "Because no one will have me." That was so touching. I have a renewed respect for Ben and I'm starting to like Ilana too.

I think Ben is realizing that he was always a bad guy here.

Jacob was never pulling his strings he was doing everything on his own terms, that just because he did things for Jacob- it was still not Jacob's fault and him killing Jacob had to force him to realize that he was selfish.

I understand the island being under water now. The bomb worked, "It worked" Juliet telling Sawyer meant she was seeing the alternate universe. Most likely her talking about grabbing some coffee they could go dutch was her slipping into her alternate universe part already.

Everyone WAS on the island back during the dharma days, but they were all escorted to safety by the submarines. So the people who stayed there, died by the bomb most likely.

Hey just something I need to rant about.. the whole 'you can't kill yourself because the island is not done with you yet' That has always friggin bugged me since Michael's episode in season four. Why can't you just throw yourself off a cliff? What's the island gonna do blow you to safety don't think so

Well the car crashed because Jack was on the bridge the woman said she was distracted by Jack so you could look at it that way. I find it far too unbelievable that you won't be able to find one simple way to kill yourself without being thwarted. If Richard jumped off a cliff there would be no cars to pop up and distract him. It's all rather cheesy even if it fits for me anyways
