I think Jack was justified. All Locke did was show he was irrational with his decisions. How was Jack supposed to know he was unarmed? Locke always has a knife with him, and just because the knife he threw was in Naomi's back, didn't mean he didn't have another. And his knife was in Naomi's back...That just proves Locke was irrational.
Jack honestly thought he was doing the right thing, he thought Locke was dangerous. He killed some girl with no explanation. He had a 'kill first and ask questions later' attitude, and Jack was worried for the rest of the people.
Jack cared about getting the people off the island, he didn't view the island as good, but as bad, and Locke was this obstacle always getting in his way with on real explanation other than 'this is our destiny'. Which was already clear to Locke, Jack didn't believe it. He offered no more evidence.
I also just re-watched the scene. Locke goes for his gun to shoot Jack, and Jack pulls it out of his hand. So it was pretty much also self defense. I would call that justifiable. |

Locke only pulls for his (unloaded)gun after Jack sucker punches him which knocks him to the ground. That would mean that Locke was acting in self defence, and therefore would also be justified. Jack clearly has the upper hand. Locke is on the ground unable to move(with Jack standing directly over him) and Jack pulls the trigger anyway. That's not self defence.
those matters aside, I do love when Jack fights <3

So getting punched means you should shoot someone? Jack only punched him Becausehe was shot at, and Locke killed Naomi. Locke going for his gun to shoot Jack wasn't justified, Jack taking the gun was.
And Locke was able to move because he went for his gun, and they fought over the gun. Locke could have moved, but just figured Jack wouldn't shoot him. |

how could he shoot Jack if the gun wasn't loaded. being able to move your arms is defferent from your whole body. I still don't see how one was any better than the other. They are both essentially in the wrong.
thats all that really can be discussed now.
I prefer his sarcastic laugh he does when he's pissed off, to the tears. I think I'm going to do a tribute to that laugh one day _________________

Attention Jack fans!
Have I got a song for you!
Cherry Poppin' Daddies' No Mercy for Swine.
I was going through my MP3s looking for inspiration, and this came up. I just about lost it at the 'No, Jack, don't you go back' part, and then did crack up laughing at the 'drowning in a thousand beers' part. Someone who likes Jack but has a good sense of humor about him should make a video of this. I'm entirely serious. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. I once wanted to do a video to Jack with the song It's My Party. I love Jack, but I also have a good sense of humor too. Sometimes you just have to do fun and silly vids. |
