|
|
I've noticed lately a lot of people using effects in Vegas that my version doesn't seem to have, and I have a pretty recent version. It got me to wondering if there are any free plugins out there?
Can anyone recommend any and where to get them?
Thanks! _________________

I haven't ever tried any plug-ins for my Vegas so I'm afraid I don't have any answer for you there. But I was just curious what sort of new effects you'd noticed ('cause I want to be sure I haven't missed something, lol! ).
I've seen a lot of moving textures being used lately, for example, that aren't effects but rather are sort of animated stock footage used as a composited texture in the same way that people use still pic textures. Tammy's "Charlie Pace{Crawling in my skin}" is a cool example of that.
Always good to see you here! *hugs* ♥! |

To go with what Aislynn was saying. I just recently figured out where to actually download the moving textures *i got the few i have from a friend* but if you download Hypercam and go to pond5.com you can "record" the texture onto your hard drive, then you use it like any other video clip and just drag it onto the timeline. _________________

Yeah, I actually used a moving texture back in June with my Lonely People video. I am a big fan of moving textures!!!
One effect I see a lot lately, which maybe I have and just don't know how to do, is the one MysticWondering uses here: http://lostvideo.net/viewvid.php?vidid=7511
I ♥LOVE♥ the way that looks, but I just assumed it was a plug-in. I also see a lot of text/titling effects that look really professional compared with what I've been able to pull off. Maybe I just need more practice, though.
Thanks for the info!!! (((HUGS))) |

Are you talking about the green lined looking effect with the bright light going through? If you are that's under TV Stimulator and it's called Bad Sync. The only thing I haven't figured out about it is that how to still it--trust me when you use it you'll understand what I mean.
The only way i know how to tilt text is via the event pan and crop. _________________

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant! Thanks!!! I will check it out!
As for the text, I didn't mean tilting so much as the really fancy titles some people are able to do. I think I just need to get into the text effects and play a little. I'm still learning how to do a lot of things. |

Text is definitely not one of my specialties, I usually just stick to the basics, lol! I've seen several really awesome things done with text by using Adobe After Effects, like this, this or this. Cool beans, aren't they?
I'd love to learn how to do any of that!
Sophie has some gorgeous opening sequences, from the really complicated such as the one for "Because You Lied" to more simpler but still extremely cool like the one for her "Lost: Terminator" one. I'd love to know how she does those! |

Ooo!!! I'm with you... I'd love to know how to do stuff like that!
It's so funny you linked to those kintetic typographs. I just saw one of those for the first time the other day. There are zillions of them on YT. Pretty cool!
Thanks again for the tips! |
