I've had pretty much all I can take of Jack bashing, so since we already have a thread for Kate love, I thought it was about time someone created one for her other other half, who (despite being the hero from the pilot) has somehow managed to become the most despised character in the Lost fandom.

From now on, this is a haven for Jack fans to dissect his episodes, his character arc, his relationships or just show some much needed love.

The only rule is:

NO JACK BASHING!

But yes, Jack will jump off that bridge if people don't start being nice to him!

Doesn't anyone have anything interesting (but still positive) to say about Jack?

I actually liked him in season five. He's finally starting to mellow. Sure he tried to blow up the island, but at least he's calm about it.

Me either, Kat! I read an interview once where Matthew said Jack cries when he wants to hit something. I like that his first response to frustration isn't always aggression. Sometimes he just needs to get it out.

Except in my case, I just want Kate to hug him! The man needs some unconditional love! It seems like first with his father, then with his mother, then Sarah and sometimes even Kate he's always had to earn it, by being the perfect son, the perfect husband, the perfect father and fiancee. This is one of the many reasons I love the idea of Jabies. You don't have to earn a child's love -- they give it freely.

I don't even care "why" he cries, its just never bothered me in the slightest :S He only does it when he's utterly heartbroken, as do all the characters, but since he's the main one we see it more :S

the one thing ive always liked about Jack is he's utterly devoted to whatever he does. He follows his heart - even if it means breaking it to save his friends.

Strangely enough the line that floored me about his character is when he tells Richard not to give up on Locke. It shows he's matured and opened up his beliefs which was something that always annoyed me about him. Yes he's changed but I think its for the better.
