I am having an issue with MPEG/MPG4 files. Every time I try to use them in Sony Vegas they wont play, so I don’t know where to edit them if they need to be editing and it makes it very difficult because there are some parts of the clip that I don’t need and I am worried that once I render the video, it will have bits in there that I won’t need.
It also feels like it makes the video just drag on, it makes it sluggish and the clips are very sluggish they move at a very slow pace and barely move through the video at all.
Should I convert them to something else? I have like 15 of the clips. I don’t have a file converter is there a free one that wont damage my computer? |

I always fall back on good ol' WMM for things like this. If it will open them, then what I would do would be import all of the clips into WMM, put them all on the timeline, then render them as one thing if you don't want to have to render them one at a time.
But yes, I would definitely render them into .WMV to hopefully stop that issue Vegas is having with .MPEG.
Now, if WMM can't open them, then you'll have to go with a converter of some sort. So far I've been lucky in that everything I've needed converted will open with WMM, so hopefully somebody else will have a converter name for you. Good luck! |

Yeah it wont open in WMM. I have no idea of any good converters out there. I have not had luck with them. I download the ones that appear to be free but turns out they are not. |

The only converter I've found that will make my clips Vegas friendly is Any Video Converter. Here's the link to download it--and it's freeware--and one of my favorite parts is that it will download videos straight from youtube and convert them.

Ah. It's so nice thank you.
It converted them to the files that run better with Sony. And I am excited because I used Zamzar for Youtube but I don't care for it so now I can use this. Thanks! |
