...I wish I was one; but apparently I'm not ;( yet; I shall be one day!

Anyway, I'm writing a Harry Potter fic for the first time

And I just need to know a few details regarding books 6&7 about Hermione and Malfoy (Dramione fic ;]). Ok, here goes:

1. Hermione's wand. does it get destroyed in book 6 or 7? *please tell me book 6

* and does she then adopt Bellatrix's as her own or for just that battle?
2. At the time of Malfoy's breakdown in book 6, does Hermione know about his Dark Mark? Does he have it yet?
3. How old is she in book 6?
4. This is more general, but if staying with her parents in the Muggle world, how would Hermione best send an owl? Is there a Post Office in Diagon Alley? If so; what's its name?

Okay, I'm gonna answer these for you, but don't take my word for it. I'm still kind of foggy on book 7 (haven't read it in awhile). But I'm pretty confident this is right....

1. Hermione's wand doesn't ever get destroyed in any of the books. However, it is confiscated from her in Book 7, when the bad snatcher people capture her, Ron & Harry. She uses Bellatrix Lestrage's wand for a short time - it's not know though if she ever got her own wand back.

2. I'm pretty sure Hermione doesn't know about his Dark Mark in that book. I know Harry is convinced Malfoy is a death eater, and tries to tell Hermione and Ron about it, but Hermione and Ron just think he's overly paranoid.

3. I believe she's 16 in the 6th book. According to the harry potter wiki, she was born in Sept, and if they set off for school in August, then she'd have her birthday right as term is starting.

4. Not too sure about this, I don't recall them saying anything about a Post office in Diagon Alley, but there has to be one. However, I think that Hermione's parents are well-informed of her magic skills and have no problems with it, so I think Hermione would probably be able to get away with sending an owl from their house. She could also probably ask Harry if she could use Hedwig or something....might be an idea

I have a scene written where Hermione sees Malfoy's dark mark so i was hoping she didnt know it was there

Had another question, I know we never find out Hermione's parents names, but do we find out what she changed them to when she sends them to Australian with clean memories? I vaguely read it in a fic awhile ago so I'm not sure if it happened, like you Im fuzzy on the books

Yeah...I think you could always buy her an owl, because that might be easier. Or like I said - even though i'm not sure there's a post office in Diagon Alley - you could always make one up. I think her parents did come with her to Diagon Alley once, in the 2nd book. So you could always make up a trip to Diagon Alley to send a letter or something

And as far as her parent's names - no, we never find out what they were, or if she changed them when she sent them to Australia. I think they've always just been Mr. & Mrs. Granger.

EDIT - No wait, just looked on the Wiki and when she modified their memories, she made them believe they were Monica & Wendell Wilkins.

you have no idea!! I know basic harry potter stuff but not like I know Lost. But i know how mad for the details HP fans can get so i didnt want to screw up a timeline and have a review going 'you know hermione didn't know that yet...". Altho; im putting AU in the title so I can shrug off any misinformations

though I'm not quite as fanatical about it as some people

, but I totally get your concern for getting the details right - even though in an AU, it shouldn't matter.

Kat,

Awesome fic. Nicely written! I love the pairing of Hermione and Draco, they play off each other so well in my opinion.

Harry Potter isn't a fandom I read very often but I love a good fanfic.

Some days I just spend reading fanfic for a few hours- better than a lot of books I see published - so much untapped talent out there.

I won't usually read them if they poorly written or contain graphic spelling errors every other sentence.
Although if the storyline is good I've been known to forgive that and to gently suggest a good beta reader. lol
I'm especially fond of AU stories.

Hope you write some more of the same would love to read them.
