I was wondering if anyone could help me. For the past couples of months my computer has been restarting itself. It mainly happens when it goes into idle mode, but it also seems to do it if I try and do too many things at one time. I have an update to date virus protection, and I've tried downloading and using free Malware scans, but they also make my computer restart.
I was wondering if anyone could know what I could do to make it quit doing this. _________________

Do you have Vista? I remember reading about that before when somebody was trying to use Paintshop (I think) with Vista and it just caused it to go into bunch of restarts. It's unfortunate that Vista restarts rather than giving you the opportunity to read the error screen (aka the Blue Screen of Death ) so you'd at least know what had caused the problem.
I just googled "Vista restarts itself" (I'm really betting you have Vista, lol, but if not substitute XP for Vista ) and this was one of the answers that came up here that says Vista automatically reboots itself when it accepts an update (without caring if you're in the middle of something, apparently ). There are a bunch of other things on there, though, so you might want to have a look around and see if anything sounds like it might be what's causing all the restarts.
Hopefully it'll be something that's easily fixed! *fingers crossed* Good luck!
