So to vote publically which I prefer to do I have to untick two boxes.. is there any way for warren to add some code so that we can choose how we want to vote in our profile or something. It just seems unfair that you have to do it everytime you vote. _________________

lol Yeah, it's not exactly unfair. But I think this would be cool. I kinda uncheck the boxes as second nature, so it's not a big deal to me, but this would make it easier. Ya know, maybe in your profile, you can check a box that says "always vote anonymously" and vice versa. _________________

Thanks Kat. It's not a big deal hope something can be worked out though. I just meant in terms of it being harder to vote publically you know. _________________

Hmm, good point. But sometimes I like to vote publicly, other times anonymously. I don't use one for all the time if you get what I mean. So I don't wanna keep going back to my profile to change my settings each time I vote =P |

Well, maybe we could keep the old feature and add a new one to our profiles? _________________

I was thinking perhaps 3 options? as in you'd be able to select one of them on your profile to change
"Always vote anonymously"
"Always show my vote"
"Always ask me how to vote" - which would be just the same as it is now ;p
this is all premature tho cos i dunno if we can even do it but it is a good thought i'm with you jemmz i wouldnt wanna go back and forth either _________________

Yeah, I like that idea much better. Cool, Kat. Though I don't really care either way, if you were to change it, that'd be the way to go, I think. It makes the most sense. _________________

Sounds like a good idea...I'm not too bothered by how it is now but I usually like to vote publicly so it would be nice not to have to uncheck the boxes every time. _________________

Yeah I tend to mix how I vote sometimes publicly and sometimes anonymously.
So I wouldn't like to have something on my profile, but I think Kat's idea is good, because people may not always want the one option |

I'm not sure what sort of options our code supports in this case, whether its possible to have voting defaults for each profile as opposed to a site-wide default, but as soon as we find out, we'll let you guys know! |

I like this idea. If I knew what I was doing when I originally wrote the LVI 4.0 code, I would have done it like this . However, right now to add user preferences like this, it would take a bunch of re-writing, and very messy hacks with the forum code. So, we'll have to bench this for now, unless I can find some easier way to do this without needing to rewrite everything lol |
