I don't know what happened, but I can't work with Sony Vegas anymore... the program doesn't even start anymore!
At first, I got an error message when I tried to open Vegas, something that had to do with Quicktime (??). I tried to re-install Vegas, but it didn't help. In the end, I re-installed Windows, then I re-installed Vegas, but I still can't start the program. I get that kind of Windows error message you usually get when a program doesn't open up or start properly.
Can anyone help me? I'm kinda desperate at the moment _________________

That's really weird. Are you trying to open an existing project? Cause if the project contains quicktime files that would explain it else I'm not sure. Sorry you had to go to so much trouble! I can upload my Vegas for you tomorrow if you want to see if that works. _________________

I tried both, opening Vegas (I mean, just Vegas, no project) as well as one of my last projects, but I always get the same error message. I've never used any Quicktime files in any of my projects and Quicktime is working fine at the moment (it didn't work properly before I re-installed Windows).
I don't know what's going on and it's so annoying that I can't even start the program anymore, no matter what I try to do.
EDIT: I will try to install it once more... I hope it'll work then. If it doesn't, it would be great if you could upload your version for me, Paul! _________________

Write down the whole error message and post it into google or last straw email sony's technical people and ask them or ask on a Vegas forum referencing the error message.
Here's Sony's techincal help form:
http://www.custcenter.com/cgi-bin/sonypictures.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php
Edit: Okay I will upload it tomorrow _________________

Thank you so much, Paul!
I tried it again, but it's still not working. It's a version that I downloaded somewhere, so maybe the problem lies with the product key? I never had problems with the key before though and I've been using Vegas for quite a while now. I still don't understand why the program stopped working all of a sudden... I didn't change any settings, I didn't even touch any Quicktime buttons and it's a mystery to me why Vegas still isn't working even though I re-installed the program and Windows. _________________

Thanks a lot, Trey, but I tried all kinds of keygenerators and as matter of fact, Vegas accepted all of the keys but I still can't start the program. This is so weird and I just don't know what else I could still try to do. I never had any problems like these with Vegas before. _________________

That sounds really bad, i know what you're going through because i'm having exactly the same problem with my itunes, and have tried installing it again but still no luck.
If i find a way to get my itunes working again i'll let ya know because it could be connected some way |

Ok, now this is really weird: I installed Sony Vegas 6 just to see if this one's still working (I've been using Sony Vegas 7 lately) and it seems to be working fine. At least, I can open and start the program without any problems.
So, why the the hell isn't Vegas 7 working for me anymore? Do you think that maybe it's indeed a problem with the product key? Maybe they're blocking all the fake product keys now?
EDIT: Oh, and does anyone know if I can open a Sony Vegas 7 project in Sony Vegas 6? _________________
