*reads spoiler*
Spoiler:
...aaaaaand that's the last straw. I'm finished with the show after this season. Really sick and effing tired of them killing off the characters I like so that they can focus it to be the Jack/Kate/Sawyer show
Thanks for sharing that link, btw, hon. _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me

*huggy hug huggles for Cinthia and Jen and a wink at Paul for making a Charlie video*
I'm a Jater, but the love triangle is starting to bore me too. They used to be subtle about it, and not mention it as much. Now its like it's the bloody Jack/Kate/Sawyer show. Or at the moment, the 'Watch Kate and Sawyer make out every 10 minutes!' show. My brother stopped watching after 3x06 cos he got sick of the shipping stuff. Now I have no one to watch it with.... *sigh*

awww, you're so sweet Paul!

Spoiler:
I'm thinking of quitting Lost too or maybe I'll wait for the dvds to be available to rent and spend a weekend watching instead of months. I'm so sick of the triangle and them turning characters I love into assholes. Seems they're doing that with Desmond at the moment I didn't think I would stop loving Desmond.
Elle - It was a difficult season for Jaters too. _________________

Spoiler:
I'm with you on the DVDs. I told my friend Angie my plan and she was like "Man, when will I ever see you?!" Since really...we only see each other on Lost Wednesdays.
My answer: Supernatural Thursdays *crosses fingers that they get a third season so I can have a new fandom to throw myself whole-heartedly into* Pssssst....come join the dark side! Oh, and...once you get addicted, cuz I KNOW you will (I clearly did ), sink in even deeper---you know you wanna
Elle - it really was a rough season for the Jaters *big hugs* _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me

The Evil Internet Gremlins ate the perfectly lovely and articulate post I made earlier. I was hoping it would be here when the site came back up but noooOOOOOOoo...
Anyway, trying to remember what I said the first time...
Spoiler:
The bottom line is...the writers have a formerly hot show now turned into a sinking ship on their hands and their best idea is to kill off more characters??? ALL of the established characters have fanbases so why in the WORLD would you drive them away right now?
I've heard them say that they want Lost to be realistic with its dangers and stuff. If I wanted realism, I'd watch the news. I want characters I can love, plots that keep me interested but most of all, I want to see the characters beat the odds and survive, not all get killed off before the show is done! 'Cause c'mon, at this rate? Who's still gonna be ON the show in 2010? It'll be Vincent romping alone on the beach by a zillion little grave markers! That's NOT what I've been tuning in all this time to see!
Of course, I'm always glad to see Vincent. You know what I mean! I don't want a freakin' "Blake's 7" ending where all of the characters get killed in the last scene! That was Not Fun then and it will be even more Not Fun now!
And you know, it sounds funny to say it, but it was a tough season for the Skaters, too. Because when all was said and done, what did we "win" here? I love that you can really see that Sawyer loves her but they have Kate acting like such a spazz that it's hard to be thrilled about it. And everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY blames our ship for being the thing that's hogging up the spotlight from all of the other characters. We're basically considered The Thing That Has Brought Down The Show. Honestly at this point, if they would give me a decent female character to ship Sawyer with, I'd be okay with that. But they're so busy gleefully rubbing their hands together trying to figure out which of the -- what is it? 3??? -- main female characters they even have left to kill, that there's really no options here.
You want to know how tired I am of feeling "responsible" (by proxy ) for All That Is Bad With Lost? If I had a way to do it, I would've put Kate with Jack this year. Better that than to have to feel this way over it.
I think we've ALL lost a lot this year. I keep telling myself that it's only a TV show but considering how many of my friends here are going to stop watching it, which means they'll stop coming to LVI, which means I won't really ever see them again... Yeah, that makes it kinda personal to me what the writers are doing. [/end massive and rather off-topic rant]
*sigh*
Spoiler:
I am just SO sorry to hear this about Charlie. I'm still hoping it's a misdirection of some sort and maybe isn't true. 'Cause if it is, then they're driving away Charlie fans, PB&J shippers, wrecking Desmond's character (or at least diminishing it depending on how this all plays out ) and pretty much just spitting in the eye of a big part of their fanbase. I guess they think that they're pretty safe since they've got a deal for 3 more seasons, so they can screw the fans over all they want and still collect their paychecks for a few more years.
I'll just be over here in the corner, being jaded and bitter about it all...

I really hope none of you guys leave! It would be such a shame to come here and not see all of you. For me im accually liking the season, i dont think i would ever quit watching. Though i do think it would be a huge injustice to kill off Charlie. Its like these people get redeamed and die! They cant go out into the world and make there life any better with the people they loved. The skate thing didnt bother me much, it did in the first half, but really Kate just needs to snap out of it, so does Jack. I think the four of them (Jack, Juliet, Kate, and Sawyer) just need to have a little pow wow by the fire and sort out there problems, or they all just have a 4 way, i know KC would enjoy that! But i seriously hope you guys decide to stay.

First of all, Lost lost me a long time ago. Pretty much somewhere in the middle of Season Two, I stopped caring and started reading spoilers. I don't read spoilers for shows I give a damn about, which is why I steer VERY clear of Supernatural spoilers and, consequently bawled my friggen eyes out on Thursday out of sheer shock and agony. In any case...I haven't liked Lost for a while, now, but I'm still here. Quitting Lost doesn't mean quitting LVI, but I will admit that things are getting a little busier over at Supernatural Video Station and I'm an admin there, so it's kind of important that I spend more time there, naturally, than I do here. So, I'm not going to go away, but this won't be my main hang out anymore.
That said, I do NOT blame Skate or the Skaters for being the Thing That Brought Down the Show. I blame the writers for alienating their fanbase by killing off the "unpopular" characters, who, actually aren't as unpopular as they might think. Boone, Shannon, Libby, Ana, and Eko had a pretty large following and, well...
Spoiler:
so does Charlie. In fact, not to be a jerk, because it's really based solely on my opinion and that of a lot of my friends...a pretty big hunk of the Lost fanbase came from the Lord of the Rings fanbase, following Dominic Monaghan. That's where I and all my friends came from. I can honestly say that the promos for Lost before the first season aired had me CRINGING with disinterest, but I watched anyway, because I knew Dom was in it. I managed to really enjoy it, but he was the main reason I was watching, and, at this point, is the only reason I still am. Without him, I'm back to being disinterested in the never-ending questions thrown at us and the half-assed answers they give us to keep us tuning in. It's getting old for me. But that's just me, you know? I'm only one person. I just don't think that I'm alone in this one is all.
Now. On that note...I'm out of bitching and moaning things to say without talking myself in circles, so, I shall conclude. I won't be missing you guys, because I'm not leaving (I doubt that a whole lot of other people will be leaving either; this place is more than just Lost discussion...it's a place to hang out with friends) so quitcher bitchin _________________ avatar: Plastic!Winchester Theater by anteka @ LJ; icon by me

First of all:
I still love Lost and I'm pretty sure I'll keep on watching the show (that is, unless they don't kill off my favourites Desmond and Hurley.... they already took Ana Lucia away from me ).
Season Three has been a great season when it comes to good episodes and great stories... at least, that's what I think. We had the best light-hearted episode ever ("Tricia Tanaka is dead") and the best flashback ever ("The man from Tallahassee"). I really, really enjoyed it... story-wise!
But then we also had a lot of "messing around" with our favourite characters. Kate, for example, has been my favourite female character in Season One because she was cool and though. She's been annoying the hell out of me though all through Season Three. I won't even start talking about Skate because it makes me more than angry! And what the heck are they doing to my beloved Desmond??
They killed Eko, Locke's life is in danger, too, and now they want to kill Charlie and Tom. (I know that Tom might not be very important to most of you, but I always liked him a lot!)
I'm with Jen here: The writers are about to ruin the one big bonus they had. I, too, started watching "Lost" becaus of Dom! Without Dom, I'd probably never started watching the show. I thought that the trailer of the pilot looked pretty lame, but I gave it a chance nonetheless because I loooved Dom in "Lord of the Rings". That's how I became a huge fan of the show.
I admit that I wasn't a big Charlie fan during Season One and Two. I liked how the writers portrayed him in Season Three though. They made up for a lot of the bad stuff they did to him in the other two seasons, IMO. Well, but what use is it anyway if they're going to kill him?
To all the writers out there: Stop messing around with our beloved characters!!! Seriously, it sucks!!! _________________

Anyone who wants to let TPTB know how much they're sad Charlie died, they can send peanut butter labels! It's cheap and it gets the point across. All the information here:
