Sigh, no shooting Juliet, how lame. It doesn't matter what she said to Jack or anything else, the fact is she just can't be trusted and needs to be eliminated.
Ben, well they almost got me to vaguely like/understand him for about 2 seconds before the ending. Shooting Locke, how lame. He won't die though, because Lost will be rather screwed if he dies this soon, so I'm sure Jacob will heal him.
Episode better than I was expecting overall but now I think about it not that much actually happened at all. _________________

Locke's not dead . Or at least, not this ep lol. It will come... just at a more opportune time. (preferably seasons from now )
Still, how will Locke get out of this one?! *DUN DUN DUN*
Call me crazy, but I'm still not 100% sure about Jacob being real. Seems way too fishy - old shed, middle of the night (can't do it at day huh Ben? The wires too visible that way?). And even though Ben seems to believe it (or why would he shoot Locke over it)... I'm still unconvinced.
The title for this ep was really a perfect match lol - refers to Jack's situation, Ben's, Jacob's, AND a reference to Carnivale! ( thank you all for noticing that!!!) They even mentioned Carnivale for the first time in the last podcast before this ep, so who knows might have been intentional!
I have a theory that all these dead people - Jack's dad, Ben's mom, Locke's dad (?), Yemi, Jacob (?) etc are all one person/thing (my guess is Smokey ). Think about how Eko died by the monster killing him, and how he said "you're not my brother" to Yemi right before that. Plus, eylinerdude asked Ben specifically "did your mom die, on this island?" like it was relevant. So who knows, maybe the monster can take the form of someone from a person's past?
I'm a little impressed with how early the writers put these themes into the show , particularly Jack's hallucinations of his dad and "Adam and Eve" from the caves.
Not to mention, they're really punching the daddy issues thing aren't they? Ben is one messed up SOB, and I guess he likes having fellow SOBs around him - thus the "Kill your dad or you can't be my friend!" thing. And the others completely wiping the Dharma Initiative is a little messed-up lol.
People keep saying Jacob looks like Locke. No way! More like Hanso, Tom or Locke's dad

All I know is the writers have explicitly, repeatedly said the island is not puragatory (and I think that implies it's not Hell or Heaven either). So I won't be counting on that one.
I liked Locke's attitude in this ep he really stuck it to Ben good...until he was shot...

And um. LIVE LONGER? LOL. He hasn't aged at all in like 40 years! Unless he's, you know, Eyeliner Guy Jr. |
Yeah, something tells me that wasn't just a makeup error (we thought that with Tom's beard way back, and look what they did!). Who knows, maybe they're taking the "Joop Goop" |

Oh, and prediction for Juliette:
She's still on Ben's side, even if she hates him. Telling the losties about the invasion is just part of his plan. It gives Ben a chance to kill anyone he wants, as well as gets Juliette even deeper as a mole so she can double cross them even further down the road. I bet the plan was for him to pass the recording on to Juliette, and then she was supposed to reveal it to the others to win them over (thus why Ben was so worried about getting it to her this ep. Why else would he care so much about her knowing about when they were gonna invade?)
So my guess is next ep Ben and co will miraculously get past whatever defenses the losties put up, and guess who will have been the one to tip him off: Juliette! She just wants to go hooooooome |

Geez, Ben is such a creepy freak!!! I used to like him, but after this episode, I'm not sure about it anymore... I mean, killing his father and his own people in such a cruel way, shooting at Locke and having an "invisible friend"... he's such a psycho!!!
Speaking of the way he killed his own people: Do you think that's how Rousseau's people died? It's just a tought...
WTF? How can eyeliner man be older than Ben?
This episode left me all confused!
PS: Locke isn't dead, Locke isn't dead, Juliet isn't evil, Juliet isn't evil (...it kinda works if you keep telling yourself that ) _________________

OMG Ruth you're so right.
EVERYONE has been acting out of character this season. Especially Jack. We have a fake Jack on our hands. FACK! It has to be. It's the only logical explanation... _________________

1. (In reply to Warren...) - All the "previously dead" people on the island are DEFINETLY Smokey. Lots of characters have seen "things" that relate to their past on the island. Jack's Dad -- Yemi -- The Cat (forgot name) -- Ben's Mum (I don't think Locke's Dad is smokey). However, Jacob could quite possibly be Smokey.
2. I think the island provides longer life - as 'Richard' aka 'Eye-liner man??' has barely aged.
I'll post more later... |

Well, Cooper's too... um... dead to be Smokey.
Whoever or whatever Smokey is, what are its' intentions? Is it just randomly killing people? _________________

im on the "smokey is the visions" boat too, only i like to think of it as something manifested by the island, not something created by Dharma. |

Well, she's not really She's just being forced to do stuff she doesn't want to do in order to get home. That "I hate you" was not fake lol. I'd say she's more... Neutral . Just does what she needs to do for her own ends.
This just occurred to me: why did Alex give Locke a gun and say "if you're going to see Jacob, you'll need this"? I'm guessing she suspected Ben was gonna shoot Locke... but still, that's odd. She must really not like her dad lol (but she did remember his birthday! Man, the look on Ben's face in that scene was so meaningful lol)
Also, who's that girl who Ben was friends with when he was little? Did she get killed in that mass murder too? I smell significance.
EDIT: third - ring of sand? HUH?! Significance!!! (if you can't tell, I'm watching it now lol) |
