Oh my god...Ive just been through the strangest week of my life. Last Thursday night, a freak snowstorm hit my area (Western new York) knocking out the power, phone, heat (thankfully not the water to my house) of several hundreds of thousands here...I was among them. I JUST got my power back about a half an hour ago. I felt like that episode "48 Days Later..." and the little text would come up every morning saying "Day 6". Today was day 6. I know there were people a lot worse off than me, but I had no heat and no refrigiration for a week. And dont say "its like camping!" because when you go camping, you are prepared for camping. The unbelievable amount of food that had to be thrown out, no phone. Anyways Im so happy Im back everybody, I missed everything. My mom and I slept in the same bed to keep warm (thank god its not December and it only got down to about 40 here) but it was the most surreal week. Now its odd having heat and electricity back ON. Still no phone. Anyways wanted to let y'all know that I didnt forget about you.

Glad to hear you're okay Ruth! That sounds terrible. We got an email from some woman saying you had no power and would be back soon. Welcome back!

Yeah that was my best friend Shanin, I asked her to send it. She just moved to Chicago.

Thanks. It blew me away, FEMA is here and everything, its going to be proclaimed a Disaster, and what did my mom and I see on our spotty black and white battery operated TV? The national news saying "And Madonna is facing a lawsuit..." and NO mention of us AT ALL!

OMG Ruth, I was hoping you didn't get caught in that! I remembered you saying you lived up there and kept hearing about it on the news.

I'm glad everything is okay now

Thanks Steph, Warren. No we didnt starve, I have to admit to eating really weird foods the past few days though. And I got a lot of Sudoku done by candlelight. So today I caught up on my Battlestar's, Heroes, Law and Orders and somehow Ill catch a rerun of Degrassi. But thanks guys.
