Welcome to the 2011 LVI Video of the Year Tournament and Member's Choice Awards! This is the 7th Tournament and our very first since becoming fully multifandom in June!
Just as LVI has changed over this past year, we've also updated and streamlined the Tourney and MCAs. Instead of running concurrently, the Member's Choice Awards are up first. We have 36 awesome categories running the gamut from some new fandom-specific ones to many old favorites for your viewing and voting pleasure. 
The MCAs will run from November 1st to December 4th, which gives you almost 5 weeks to get in all of your voting. On December 5th, all of the winners from each of the categories will be randomly paired in the first round of the Tournament, which will then run for the next week to Dec 11th. Barring any tiebreakers, each subsequent round of the Tournament will start on the following Monday until we're down to the last round with the final 3 vids somewhere around the first part of January. (Again, tiebreaker rounds and such can affect the ending date so it's only approximate as of right now.  )
Now, you may be wondering what happened to the entries that you submitted back in September? You'll find each of them in one of the Member's Choice Awards categories. The MCAs are made up from both your submissions and vids that the Council Members chose from all of the rest of the eligible vids on site. We went through a rigorous process to assign all of the vids to the best possible category we felt they should be in to give each and every one of them an equal chance to shine!
And now that our work is through, it's time for yours to begin! As you vote, please be sure to watch all of the vids in each category to make a fair decision. Please do not vote simply for a fandom, pairing or character that you like but try to really determine the best vid for that category. Who knows, you may discover some fantastic new fandoms along the way!

We've made every effort to make sure that all vids have a working link but Youtube is infamous for suddenly disabling, muting or blocking vids in certain countries.  So if you should come across a link that doesn't work, be sure to check the comment thread itself (via the "watch and discuss" link on the main site and also accessible through the Video sections of the forum board). Hopefully there will be other working link options available! If not, please let us know and we'll do our best to contact the vidder and get a new link up as soon as possible! And also be sure that your own links are all active as well. We suggest going ahead and adding an alternative link in addition to just a Youtube link to each of your vids in the MCA, that way they'll have every chance to be viewed by everyone!
The only way LVI could've made it to its 7th year is thanks to the loyalty of our wonderful members who continue to keep the site and forums active, to the Council Members who keep things going day after day, and to the vidders who share their fantastic work with us.
Here's to an awesome 2012; we hope to see you all here voting, commenting, interacting and, of course, submitting your vids! But in the meantime, let's take the next few weeks to look back on all of the fantastic vids that 2011 brought us!

Due to all of the work in getting the Tournament/MCAs ready to go, the Council is holding the Member of the Month for November. But never fear, the MotM will return next month; we already have our next candidate chosen and ready to go!
