SURVEY:

LVIers: who wants to play a game of Drinking Jenga? If you're not old enough to drink, but still want to play, I promise the "big kids" will let ya I just need to know who's gonna join in and who would rather just go swimming or something ALSO, I'm going to kind of guess on the Losties who drinks and who doesn't, which shouldn't be TOO hard since we KNOW that Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Charlie do.

Anyway, if you DON'T want to play, then that's TOTALLY fine; you won't be excluded from that episode, I promise. I just don't want to put anyone in the game if they wouldn't want me to. Let me know!

Also, I'm currently working on the next ep. Should be up sometime tonight or tomorrow.

MUCH love!

You're a Lostie--you're Claire. Rule of thumb: if you're playing yourSELF in the fic, you're an LVIer; if you're playing someone from Lost, you're a Lostie.

NEW EPISODE:

The sun shines brilliantly through the windows of the Community Room as the players file in to make their decisions. Aislynn is the last to join the group, lagging a few minutes behind. As soon as the girls vacated their sleeping quarters, Aislynn decided it best to go ahead and pack her things so that she could spend her twenty minutes actually saying goodbye to her teammates and friends. ...and to Sawyer.

The clock reads 9:57 when Aislynn looks at it and then scans the group with her eyes. She sits alone, watching, as they interact with one another and she knows that she’ll miss them, but leaving the game now is the right thing to do.

Aislynn stands up and makes her way to the front of the room, standing in front of the television and looking back at the group. One by one, they look up and quiet, wondering what she might be up to.

“Hey, guys...?” she finally asks and the last three, Jack, Kate, and Steph, also fall silent, looking up at her intently.

“What’s up Ais?” Warren asks, raising an eyebrow and shifting himself in his seat.

Frowning slightly, Aislynn shifts her weight from one foot to the other and looks down at the floor. “I’m leaving the game,” she blurts out, looking up slowly to gauge the reactions.

Nikki raises an eyebrow. “We haven’t voted yet.”

“I know,” Aislynn says, “but I need to go home. Could you guys please vote me off?”

Jen’s eyes go wide. “Ais? No! You’re not going home, really, are you?!”

Another frown crosses Aislynn’s lips. “I have to. I got a phone call last night and it’s really important that I be with my family right now, so...if you guys could please go ahead and vote me out, I’d really appreciate it. I’m so sorry...”

Staring at Aislynn, Sawyer drops himself heavily back against the back of the couch he’s sitting in, frowning.

“It’s really important to me...and I really hate to go, believe me...but I need to.”

Jen, Charlie, and Claire exchange looks. This didn’t fit their plan at all.

“Whatever you need, Ais,” Marcus speaks up. “Right, guys?” he asks, looking around at his team members.

Slowly, they all nod, Sawyer included, although he’s brooding quiet visually.

“I’m really sorry...” Aislynn repeats, but before anyone can respond, the television comes to life and Ben’s face is on the screen asking them all to take a seat and prepare to vote.

Aislynn sinks down onto the couch beside Sawyer and looks over at him, frowning. He says nothing.

A grim sadness has fallen over the room as the members of the Red Team stand, one by one, when their names are called and, as asked, each of them places their vote for Aislynn, including Aislynn herself.

The Blue Team, a little less upset than the Red Team, but still visibly effected by the fact that someone has chosen to leave the Challenge, takes their votes next.

The members of the Red Team huddle together slightly, unaware that they’ve purposefully segregated themselves from the Blue Team, who, admittedly on some level, the Red Team feels does not understand their loss, even though they were the first team to lose a member. This is different; the team didn’t get to decide this and they’re all hurting to see her go. Most of all, though he will not admit it: Sawyer.

The screen goes blank again and Ben’s voice is heard over the speakers. “The member of the Blue Team voted to sit out of the next Challenge is...”

White flashes on the screen and then, in big, blue letters, it spells out, PAUL. Then, a few seconds later, the screen goes blank again.

“Paul, you have been chosen to sit out the next Challenge,” Ben’s voice says.

Paul furrows his brow slightly but says nothing. After all, it sucks that he’s been asked to sit out of the next game, but he gets to stay here longer, so it can’t be so bad.

“The member of the Red Team voted out of the game is...”

Claire huddles closer to Charlie, frowning and resting her head on his shoulder. Seeing Sun go away was bad enough, but to see someone from her team go home breaks her heart a little. Somewhere, secretly, she had hoped that her team would just go on winning and knocking out the Blue Team one by one so that she would never have to send someone home. That, in and of itself, is a terrible thought and she knows it, but it’s less painful to think about than the thought of sending Aislynn home, or worse...getting sent home at some point, herself.

Again, the screen flashes to a white background and, written in bold red letters, AISLYNN flashes on the screen before it all fades to black again.

“Aislynn, you have been voted out of the game. You will have twenty minutes to pack your things and say your goodbyes before meeting me outside where a taxi will be waiting to take you home,” Ben’s voice says, “everyone remaining in the game, in twenty minutes time a clue for the next Challenge will be available. Please regroup in this room to receive it. Thank you.”

The screen goes black again and a deafening silence fills the room.

“Well...” Aislynn says slowly, “I’m already packed, so...” her voice trails off and she looks at Sawyer.

“We’re sorry you have to go, Aislynn,” Kate speaks up, frowning. “I hope that everything ends up all right at home...”

Aislynn breaks her stare with Sawyer and looks over at Kate. “Thanks,” she replies, smiling weakly.

Staring out at the ocean from a bench on the sandy beach hidden behind the fence around the back yard and pool area of the huts, Jen closes her eyes. It’s real now. Aislynn is leaving and her team is not invincible. She opens her eyes again and sighs. Knowing that she should be trying to say goodbye to Aislynn makes her feel worse about hiding out, but it’s painful to come to the actual realization that if Aislynn hadn’t decided to leave, Jen, herself could have been ousted from the game involuntarily.

Besides, she tells herself, Aislynn is probably with Sawyer. She’ll want to spend time with him and then say a quick, less painful goodbye to the rest of the group like Sun did. That thought makes her feel a little better.

Steph, Ruth, Paul, and Colin separate themselves from the rest of their team and make their way to the Girls’ Hut. The Boys’ Hut is off limits–Sawyer and Aislynn are in there.

“I hate to admit it,” Colin says slowly and quietly, “but it wasn’t so bad voting off Sun...losing Aislynn is much worse, even if she isn’t on our team...”

Ruth and Paul nod knowingly.

“Like...” Colin continues, “she’s one of us, you know? She’s a Spammer. This really sucks...”

Frowning, Steph nods, too. “It does kind of feel like we’re losing one of our own, even if she’s on the other team, doesn’t it...?” she asks no one in particular.

“You could’ve told me, Sticks,” Sawyer grunts, dropping himself down onto his bed. He looks over at her and frowns.

Sighing, Aislynn sits primly down on the bed beside him. “I’m sorry,” she says, “I just...I had to think about it, first. Sleep on it.”

“I hate to see you go,” he admits.

Nodding, Aislynn smiles weakly at him. “I hate to leave,” she says.

Warren broods by himself in the living room. The Losties, as he’s come to call them—to himself, that is—are out in the pool. They seem unaffected. Sawyer, obviously, locked in the Boys’ Hut with Aislynn, is affected, but the others...even Charlie and Claire...are, it seems, over it.

As he walks into the room, Pepsi can in hand, Marcus sees Warren sitting on the edge of a couch with his elbows on his knees and his chin resting in the palms of his hands.

“Where’s everybody else?” Marcus asks.

Interrupted from his solitude, Warren looks up at Marcus and sits back on the couch slightly. He shrugs. “Losties in the pool, Blue Team in the Girls’ Hut, Sawlynn in the Boys’,” he replies dully.

Marcus smiles a little at the reflexive use of a “ship” name for Sawyer and Aislynn. “What about Jen?” he asks.

Warren shrugs again. “No idea. Haven’t seen her since the vote.”

“Don’t you care?” Marcus asks.

“Not particularly,” Warren admits. He’s too lost in his own thought. He really, really hates the idea of Aislynn leaving. Since the first Challenge, he’s sort of thought of her as more than a teammate. More like...his fidus Achates. After all, they’d won the first Challenge together. As corny as even the thought in his head sounded, he felt like he was going to lose a piece of himself, sort of, when Aislynn left and that feeling didn’t sit well in his stomach.

Marcus takes a sip of his Pepsi. “Probably as hard for you as it is for Sawyer, huh?” Marcus asks, “but in a different way, I mean.”

Again Warren only shrugs and sighs.

“Well, you’re a real bundle of laughs, Warren, so I hate to leave you, but...” Marcus says slowly, letting his voice trail off purposefully.

Warren doesn’t even look up. “Yeah. Later,” he replies distractedly. Losing Aislynn feels like losing one of their own, Warren thinks, because Aislynn is a Spammer. They’re like their own little clique without realizing it...including those on the Blue Team. This particular loss really hits home.

Frowning, Marcus gets up and leaves Warren alone in the kitchen, making his way outside. Maybe he’ll stumble across Jen, he thinks, and then he can push the thought of Aislynn leaving out of his head for a little bit. There’s still a good ten or fifteen minutes left before she has to go.

“You’ll find someone else to fawn over,” Aislynn laughs without humor as she sits back on her hands as they rest on the bed. She looks over at Sawyer and grins a little although it doesn’t really reach her eyes. “Just try not to be too quick about it, or anything,” she adds with a wink.

Sawyer laughs a little and shakes his head. “I’ll be sure to take my sweet ass time, Sticks,” he replies. He looks down at his watch and frowns. Aislynn only has ten more minutes before they have to leave.

“Geez, she’s got to leave soon...” Ruth says, frowning at the alarm clock beside her bed.

Steph sighs. Colin looks down at his feet. Paul shifts uncomfortably.

“We should get back in the main hut so we don’t miss her,” Paul says.

After a short pause, they all agree and slowly stand, making their way out of the Girls’ Hut.

Jen looks down at her watch and sighs.

“There you are, Mon Amie,” Marcus’s voice says from behind her.

Whirling toward the voice as she stands, Jen trips and grabs the table to keep from falling over.

“Sorry,” Marcus says, biting his lip not to laugh.

“Sure, you are,” Jen replies unable to keep herself from smiling.

Marcus grins. “Everyone kind of shut themselves away...” he says, grin fading slightly. “So I came looking for you.”

“I’m about to go back in...she needs to leave soon,” Jen says, unable to meet his eyes. She hates the idea of Aislynn leaving but knows that if she was in Aislynn’s shoes, she would have made the same decision.

Marcus nods. “That’s kind of why I was looking for you,” he admits, “I didn’t want you to miss seeing her off...”

“Right,” Jen says. “Well...come on then.”

Aislynn frowns a little, looking down at Sawyer’s watch as he checks it for the millionth time. “I gotta go...” she says slowly.

Sawyer nods, looking down.

Standing, Aislynn starts out of the hut without him, but Sawyer stands quickly and takes a few large steps toward her, grabbing her wrist and turning her around. Before Aislynn can even register the surprise, Sawyer’s lips are on hers and just as quickly, they’re gone.

“What was that for...?” Aislynn asks, eyes wide and fingers reaching up to her lips reflexively.

With a small smirk, Sawyer shrugs. “Better late than never,” he replies simply and opens the door of the hut gesturing for her to leave first.

The group reconvenes in the Community Room and Aislynn makes her way around the room giving hugs to everyone, telling them once again that she’s sorry she has to go.

“We’ll miss ya, Ais,” Colin says as she hugs him. “Have a safe trip.”

“Thanks, Colin,” Aislynn replies with a smile that the tears in her eyes betray.

She hugs Sawyer a little longer than the others and then Warren, last. “Hang in there,” she whispers in his ear. “You can still rock this without me. I know you can,” she says and pulls away from the hug, looking him in the eye. “I mean that.”

Warren smiles and nods. “Thanks,” he says. “Safe trip.”

The group walks Aislynn out to the taxi and Locke helps Ben load her bags into the trunk. Aislynn turns away from the taxi and waves to the group one more time as Ben opens the door for her and ushers her in, closing the car door behind her and climbing into the front seat.

Everyone watches as the taxi pulls away and Aislynn turns in her seat, staring out the rear window of the cab, waving still, with a sad smile on her face. A few moments later, the cab disappears as it makes a turn in the distance.

Jen frowns, dropping her head down on Marcus’s shoulder. He sighs and sets his free hand on her shoulder—the other is trying comforting Steph already, squeezing gently at her shoulder.

Slowly, everyone at the group looks over at Warren, waiting for him to declare it time to hit the pool like he had when Sun left. It’s as if no one wants to say it, but if Warren does, then it’s okay to do so. But Warren says nothing. He just walks away from the group and plops himself back down on a couch in the Community Room.

Now the game feels real.

...if he does, I dunno about it, because it's not what I'm writing. I was, honestly, a little afraid that that was going to be the impression given by that, but it's kinda like when your best friend from another place (state, country, whatever) comes to visit for a while and you're SO happy and just having a great time, and then they leave and you feel like death for a few days, ya know? Not like he's INTO her, but he'll really miss her. They were buds, ya know?

Rocksiren wrote:

...yeah sorry about that, but I figured that it needed to be this way. If we were all happy-go-lucky and "oh...later Ais!" *goes back to what we were doing*, then it wouldn't be too realistic. I promise that we'll sleep it off for the most part and then we can be happy again. ...this is what happens when I'm stuck and Marcus ISN'T online to feed me wacky ideas

Actually, I was kinda hoping that would've softened the blow.... Guess not? Sorry you guys. I promise it'll look back up again by the next episode!

*sniff* I'm gonna miss me SOOOOOOO much!!!! Wahhhh!!!!

Wait a minute...

Aw, I'm glad that everybody was sad to see me go... If everybody would've been all "And don't let the door hit you on your way out, 'kay/thanx/bye!" I would've been all

And I'll let you GUESS which was my most favorite moment of all! Woo-hoo! Kiss me, you bad boy, you! *swoons*

My name is Aislynn and I approve the above-mentioned Sawlynn moment.

And I had to laugh when Warren called us "Sawlynn" like that...

Thanks for the great send-off, Jen! *big hugs* I miss you guys already! *sniff*

But, of course, I'll still be here rooting from the sidelines!

That's what I thought, too...that any other sort of mood for this ep would feel wrong. Thanks for the compliments...God I'm gonna miss writing Sawlynn...

nice I laughed out LOUD reading that, Ais!

Now, here's the thing Ais, if I'm writing a "reality" show, and I have us be all like "Kay, bye!" and go on without another thought, that wouldn't be very realistic, would it?

I'm really glad you approve of this send-off. While everyone else's comments are ALWAYS appreciated...in this particular instance, yours, to me, was the most important, because I wanted it to be something you approved of. Thank God *whew!*

Glad you'll still be reading and cheering from the sidelines!

PS...we miss you, too!

Awwww..... Jen, you're a master that was so real it was hard to pull away from. You really did make it feel like more than just a fun, happy-go-lucky game. It felt real and therefore really really sad!

Ais, you know I totally would be just like that if you were to leave LVI or something, btw You're my, as Forest Gump would say, "best good friend" 'round here! Thankfully, with this I can pull away and say "it's just a fic" and go back to happy-go-lucky mood, but it definitely wouldn't be so if this was real . So I'm really thankful and impressed with you Jen for making the tone just right in this. I'm quite happy with how "Warren" is turning out lol, even if there are a few differences . Very cool.

Well...I'm glad that I was able to make it a little more REAL...although I'm bummed I had to do it in such a sad fashion.

I'm really glad that you approve! I was a little worried that this would be pushing it, because, while I GUESSED you and Ais were really close, I wasn't sure if you were THAT close for "Warren" to have been so heavily affected. I'm glad it wasn't too over-the-top for you.
