I need help!
Question: I can put 2 videos next to eachother but how do I make the edges blend with eachother? I tried putting a blur border but I can't get any good results because the whole video gets a border. |

Heya TurnipHead! Steph did a tutorial here that shows a couple of different ways you can get a split screen. If you don't want to use the track motion thing to move the clips, you can get pretty much the same effect by putting one clip on the timeline above the other (as you can see in her screencaps), then applying the cookie cutter (the square shape will give you a true split screen look -- half of one clip on one side, half of the other clip on the other -- if that's what you're looking for ) to the top one and using the pan/crop tool on both clips to position them where you need them to be so that what you want to show up on both sides of the clip lines up where you want it.
To get that nice feathered look between the two clips, you use the feather slider on the cookie cutter (again in Steph's tutorial towards the bottom) to get the edges of the clips to blend nicely together. I hope that all makes sense! |

I've never actually tried it myself, but I would imagine that you can treat your audio the same as your video clips... Try holding down CTRL and then drag the end of the song like you were stretching it or trimming it. Pulling it back to the left should make it go faster, to the right should make it slower.
To save it like that, just highlight the entire song, mute all of the other tracks (if you have any clips on them yet ) and render as. Under your options when the rendering box comes up, use the pull-down menu to change WMV into WMA or WAV and it will save as an audio file. I believe Vegas can also use MP3 but it only gives you so many times to use that feature before it requires you to buy the plug-in. (At least, that's what Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 is telling me... ) If you really need it in MP3 format, then I'd suggest saving it as WMV or WAV, burning it to a rewriteable CD, then ripping it back off the CD with something like Windows Media Player with the option set to rip as MP3. Hope that helps! |

I freakin LOVE doing that, the BattleStar Galactica theme tune is so funny sped up Some songs actually sound better with like .10 >> .30 more that usual on the rate thing! |

Heya Becca! If you just literally want the one side of the screen in color and one in black and white (as opposed to having a person in black and white or color while the rest of the scene is the opposite ), then I'd think the easiest thing to do would be:
1. Line your two clips up, one on the video timeline above the other
2. Apply the black and white effect to the one you want to be black and white
3. Use the cookie cutter on the top clip and use the feather slider to make the edge between the 2 clips as hard or as soft as you'd like
I didn't want to over-explain if you already know where to find the black and white effect and how to use the cookie cutter but if you need help with either of those, just say the word! |
