Jorge Garcia will be guest starring this season as 'The Giant'.
http://darkufo.blogspot.com/2012/08/jorge-garcia-to-guest-on-once-upon-time.html
Adam Horowitz tweeted this:
| Quote: |
Thrilled to have @jorgegarcia joining us for some #OnceUponATime -- oh how we've missed writing for you, Jorge! |
Jorge tweeted back:
| Quote: | | Yay! At last we can (sorta) talk about it! Looking forward to this. |
Jorge was one of my favorite Lost cast-members so I've been hoping they'd find him a role on OUAT. Sounds like this will be the Jack and the Beanstalk episode.
I really hope he has a Storybrooke counterpart that we'll be seeing alot of this
next season. I'd really like to see Jorge and Emilie share the screen again.

I missed last night's episode; but plan on watching it this morning.
I actually prefer a lot of it to last season.
For me I'm a huge Regina fan and I was bothered by how little Henry had seemed to care for Regina; because after all he was her mother. That was what I disliked most about last season is that he had this book of their lives; and surely her life was in there but yet he had so much hate for her...I understand she's evil; but she wasn't always evil. It was just something that bothered me. He seemed to want to help everyone but her.
So I was glad we finally go to see Henry become more 3 Dimensional and not so 1 dimensional.
I LOVE that we finally got to see what happened to Cora I was wondering what Regina had done to her because you see her in one flashback and never see her again when Regina's actually queen.
I really loved Regina's flashback scene; it shows how and why she really turned into what she is now. My favorite scene is when she thinks about choking snow and you realize she doesn't want to become this person.
I'm really excited for this season.
I want to know WHO Mr. Whale is. |

I can't stand the amount of hate Henry gets. Whoever Regina used to be, the fact remains that he felt unloved and mistreated by her. She sabotaged his relationship with his mother, tried to frame his teacher for murder, and tried to convince him he was crazy for believing in these fairy tales. I do believe that she cares about Henry, but when a child feels unloved and mistreated, I'm afraid that's the fault of the parent, not the child. It would be awfully hard for a ten-year-old to drum up sympathy for someone he feels has treated him badly. I think we have to take into account his age and the way Regina has acted around him.
That being said, I'm not a Regina fan at ALL, but I do know some people who love Regina who feel the same way I do about Henry.
I'm dying to know who Dr. Whale is too!!! I've heard some interesting theories, but nothing I think is really solid. My personal favorite that I've heard is that he's the Wizard of Oz, but I don't know that that'll be the case.
I'm so glad David is back to being Prince Charming. Such a step up for the somewhat blundering idiot he was last season. And Mama!Snow is SO wonderful - I love her fierce protectiveness over Emma, it's so great.
My favorite characters are Snow and Jefferson. I'm bummed Jefferson probably won't be around much more this season. But oh man, his parts of last nights episode were total tearjerkers. _________________

Last nights episode, Lady of the Lake, has been my favorite of the season thus far.
| Quote: | | And Mama!Snow is SO wonderful - I love her fierce protectiveness over Emma, it's so great |
I love Snow and Emma's relationship. The scene where Snow realizes one day she'll have a baby girl added so much to Snow and Emma's overall story. The fact that Emma was the baby she almost never had, makes her that much more special to Snow. Loved the moment in the nursery where Emma realized how much Snow sacrificed for her and how many dreams she'd lost just to protect her. That was a very touching scene.

I've read that we're supposed to learn more about him in episode 5, The Doctor.
| Quote: | | My personal favorite that I've heard is that he's the Wizard of Oz |
I hadn't heard that theory. That's an interesting one.

I'd agree that David's an idiot. (Who finds a two headed snake in a hidden chamber and just leaves it there? That scene didn't make alot of sense to me.) I really want to like him, because I love Snow and Charming but he just can't seem to do anything right. I really liked his 'We are Both' speech from the episode of the same name. It reminded me of Jack's famous 'Live Together,Die Alone' speech.
I liked that last night they gave us the twist that Snow and Charming actually got married for Ruth and that it was more of a vow renewal when they married in front of the kingdom. Kind of reminded me of The Office and how Jim and Pam actually got married at Niagra Falls.
| Quote: | | I LOVE that we finally got to see what happened to Cora |
I liked that we got to see her again.I think she'll find away back to Storybrooke with Emma and Mary Margaret. I liked the twist (though it was a little predictable) that she was posing as Lancealot.
| Quote: | | For me I'm a huge Regina fan and I was bothered by how little Henry had seemed to care for Regina |
I've enjoyed Regina and Henry's scenes this year. I believe that before he got the book he did love Regina. I think he's just very hurt by all her lies. I like that he's given her a choice : her magic or him. My favorite scene is when Regina sends Henry with David. You could see that she finally realized that she was doing to him exactly what her mother had done to her by forcing her to learn magic when she didn't want to. I think Henry's the only thing that Regina loves that she hasn't killed in the name of magic and power. She's a tragic character and I hope in the end she'll find some form of redemption.Perhaps give her life to save Emma?
Henry and August are my favorite characters. I was so happy to see August blink, meaning he's still alive. But where was he when Gepetto came to find him? I think Henry has alot more power than he's shown. In fact I think he's the most powerful person in Storybrooke, he just doesn't know it yet.
I'm enjoying the season thus far. I hope it continues to grow stronger as it goes along.

THIS!!
I absolutely adore this season so far. Especially last night's episode. All the relationship-building between Emma and Snow was just beautiful. This is absolutely my favorite show on the air right now.

I LOVELOVELOVE Prince Charming. Leaving the two-headed snake in the chamber is far from the stupidest thing to do. What is he supposed to do with it? It's certainly not hurting anyone when it's hidden in a locked box beneath a tomb. I love that he's stepping up and kind of becoming the leader of Storybrooke - with help from Ruby! I love that she's getting more screentime, and from promo pics for the next episode or two, it looks like she'll be getting even more!

Yes! I would love to see Henry discovering the power he has! He's the son of the Savior, he's certainly got some magic in him.
I love the storyline of Emma and Snow in Fairy-Tale Land too. And I love that Aurora and Mulan have been introduced, too! I feel like a lot of people don't like Aurora, but I really do and I'm excited to see where they go for her!
I must say, I am beyond excited for next week's episode. CAPTAIN HOOK!!!!
AND WE GET TO FIND OUT WHO DR. WHALE IS, EPISODE AFTER NEXT. I'M DYING TO KNOW. XD _________________

I like Prince Charming. He and Snow are one of my favorite pairings on the show. It's just the David side of him that I have a little problem with. Mary Margaret so quickly fell back into being Snow and I was hoping David would transition back into Prince Charming just as easily. I like Charming, he's brave and heroic and very cunning. I think the scene where he got the true love potion hidden within the dragon shows the amazing skills he has as a warrior. But David just seems to lack some Charming's confidence and bravery. I wonder if this is because we are once again watching the transformation of Charming from Shephard to the skilled and brave warrior he was before the curse.I think maybe we are seeing how a hero is reborn. That would be a really cool character arc.
As far as the snake box, I just feel that Regina's in a tough spot right now and desperate times call for desperate measures.Regina's very smart and I think she'll find a way to keep her word to Henry not to use magic, but rely on something more like the snakes which aren't really magical, but just as deadly.
I agree there's not much David can do about the snakes, but he shouldn't be the only one(besides Henry) who knows about them. I think David needs to be aware of what Regina has hidden in that tomb and entrust that information with people like Ruby and the 7 Dwarves. At least David and his allies can be prepared.
I'm enjoying Ruby and David's partnership as well. They make a great team. Can't wait for Snow to get back. Those three working together will be unstopable. Looking forward to Ruby's upcoming episode Child of the Moon.

I haven't quite made up my mind how I feel about these two. I think one reason people don't like them is how they were initially introduced as enemies to Snow and Emma. It's really hard to like and root for the enemy of two beloved characters. I'm curious to see what they do with them. I want to see how they work with Snow and Emma, now that they have realized they aren't the enemy.
I think these characters have alot of potential and I look forward to seeing how the writers reinterpret their classic stories.

I'd love to see the show end (many, many years from now) with Henry all grown up and becoming King Henry. (Though hopefully nothing like King Henry VIII )I'd like to see him marry Grace.I'd love to see him be able to finally go to Fairytale land and be the kind and fair leader of all the people he grew up reading about in his book.
This show is really cool in that we are basically watching Emma's Fairytale unfold. Although, sometimes I wonder if it's really Henry's story we're watching.

I don't hate Henry in fact I like Henry. I just wasn't impressed with how Regina and Henry's relationship was handled last year. It felt really one dimensional from both sides. I understand he found out his mother was evil but that doesn't mean he wouldn't stop loving her. And that's what I meant.
I'm glad we're done with David/Margret and they're back to being Charming/Snow. I wasn't a fan of David/Margret.
I am loving Lancelot.
I'm thrilled for Captain Hook.
That's a good theory that he's the Wizard of Oz...But I think he might be someone more villainous he just comes off so creepy to me. It was his "Are the nuns still nun lines?"
The most common is that people think he's the Whale from Pinocchio but I don't think it's true. |

I wasn't a fan of David/Mary Margaret either. It got old quickly because, like, the viewers KNEW they were really Snow and Charming, so it was just annoying to watch them continually break up and get back together and I hated the fact that David cheated on his wife with her and then lied about telling Kathryn the truth.
I don't think Henry ever stopped loving Regina, really. It's just with all the things she did to him (trying to convince a ten-year-old he's crazy is pretty awful tbh) he was having a hard time dealing with it, poor kid.
I can't WAIT for Captain Hook! I'm hoping Peter Pan shows up at some point too... I read the original Peter Pan novel over the summer and found Peter a little creepy, so I'd be interested to see what Once would do with him.
I really doubt Dr Whale is the whale from Pinocchio. That just seems TOO obvious - like in that episode where they tried to convince us that August was Rumplestiltskin's son. It seems too simple, especially after all this build up! And anyway, why would Regina turn a whale into a person in Storybrooke? It's so hard to figure out who he is because there are so few clues!! _________________

I too thought it got tired quickly. I thought in comparison to Snow/Charming the characters were just flat and stiff.
I HATED how David treated his wife. The way he cheated on her was wrong. I also didn't like how he stayed with the wife just because Snow didn't want to be with him at one time during season 1.
I too hope they bring in Peter Pan.
A lot of people that since Charming didn't know him he was the whale. But Charming isn't the real prince; so I think there was a lot of aspects of that world he wasn't aware of; he also didn't know who Jefferson was either.
I don't think Mr. Whale is a whale; like you it's too simple and easy. |

In my opinion if Dr. Whale was Pinocchio's whale, I would think that Gepetto and Archie would recognize him. If Gepetto could recognize Archie in human form, he would have been able to recognize Dr. Whale.
If he does turn out to be Pinocchio's whale, it would be a neat twist if he was also the whale from the Bible story of Jonah and the Whale.
Although it isn't a fairytale, sometimes I wonder if Dr. Whale is a character from Moby Dick.
I think his womanizing ways are supposed to be a hint, especially since they continued after the curse was broken. But I can't really think of many fairytale characters that are like that.

They're definitely not planning on sticking to just fairy tale characters, so someone from Moby Dick probably isn't a bad theory! I read that they might be planning on bringing in characters from stuff like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, even, and they've already got the Mad Hatter, Mulan, Captain Hook, and Pinocchio...and none of those stories are really fairy tales. So I think really any well-known character from a story is fair game! _________________

Even if he was the "real" prince, he still probably wouldn't know everyone in the Enchanted Forest. It's a big place. And there are other kingdoms besides Snow and Charming's, so that leaves options open for why Dr. Whale said Charming wasn't his prince.
I've considered the Moby Dick theory! It's a plausible one. Personally, my favorite theories are that he's Dr. Frankenstein, or that he's the Wizard of Oz. But who knows, really? I swear he could be anyone at this point. XD I'm pretty much positive he's not the whale from Pinnochio, though. _________________
