Andrea; glad you're learning to shoot; don't shoot Daryl again or I'll have to stop loving you so much. But yeesh he looked like hell coming out of the forest.
Daryl <3 <3 they keep doing things to make me love him more; all that stuff of him on his own. And he gets the first shipper kiss from Carol! _________________

Covering my eyes and ears because I can't watch the new ep before tonight....
BUT....
I've just heard that Norman Reedus twittered my "Remember the name" vid last night.
OMG, how amazing is that?
I'm feeling all like this at the moment:

That's awesome Karolina! He seems like a really nice guy.
Man I love Andrea but she was just a reckless bitch last episode, almost killing Daryl Even if it was a zombie it was pretty sick like she was getting shooting practice for kicks or something.
Pretty disappointed Merle didn't come back for real although it was cool character development for Daryl.
OMG the barn it's come in to play yay! Who else thought Maggie was gonna chuck Glenn in there for a second? I was like oh sheeet _________________

What's your theory on the barn full of walkers? I'm guessing its thier family and friends and they are keeping them hoping there will be a cure one day? I don't read the comics so I really have no clue...don't tell me if you know what's going on....only if your guessing like me.
And how bad ass was Daryl's walker necklace!! _________________

That's so awesome Karolina!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D
I felt so sorry for poor Daryl this episode!!! And the end scene made me like this
Some things on gender stereotypes that I noticed under the spoiler tag...
[spoiler:289bfd4f0a]I know nobody wants to hear this, but I found this episode to be quite sexist. I first started noticing it when Daryl was having that imaginary conversation with his brother, and they gave reference to several sexist phrases like not being a "pussy" or Merle's comment about him wearing high heels or something? But I forgave that because that could easily be down to characterisation.
Then I started looking at the female characters in general and still, I know there could be a number of excuses for this and I understand that we love this show and probably don't want to think bad about it, but I couldn't help but notice how all the women were making dinner and doing the washing up. Again, maybe it's characterisation, but it really annoyed me.
Lori can be pretty badass but like Carol, she is that stereotyped worried mother relying on Rick or the rest of the men to protect their kids. And now Lori is pregnant again which makes her even more fragile/vulnerable. Also noticed how especially this ep, it was mainly the men who were out hunting for Sophia while the girls stayed at home doing the laundry...
Andrea is the closest to breaking this stereotype, but even this episode, that line where she says she doesn't want to wash clothes anymore strongly implies that that is what she is expected to do. It was great that she wanted to look out for walkers to protect the group instead of doing chores, but then she recklessly shot at Daryl and nearly killed him, so....[/spoiler:289bfd4f0a]
Well those are just the things I've noticed. I know not everyone will agree, I didn't really want to spring an argument but it just annoyed me...so sorry if this offends anyone. |

I agree Jemma. The show is kinda sexist. I think it's a southern thing they tend to be a little backwards in the south. Not all but a lot! Did you hear that line when Andrea spots the walker and then one of the men says "you best let us handle this" I think that's what pissed her off and made her recklessly shoot b/c she wanted to prove to them that she could handle herself. Opps kinda backfired on her!! _________________

| Yeah, I totally caught that too!! It's so painfully obvious. And yeah, I thought that might have something to do with it which was why I kept going back to characterisation. But still, it's the 21st century, not all women like cooking and cleaning and taking care of children. But even if they did, why can't they be tough and on the front line too along with the men? |

Ok, I'm all caught up again
I agree with you, Jemma. I wish the women were given more credit on the show, more chances to shine and kickass.
All in all a good episode though, not really amazing, but good. I loved all the Daryl and Daryl/Merle moments, of course and I was so scared towards the end that Andrea had indeed shot him in the head I agree with Paul though: I wish Merle was back for real but I guess they're holding this back for later.

My first thought was that it could be a somewhat religious motive. You know, that Hershel wouldn't want to kill any of these walkers because they used to be human beings and it's not right in God's eyes or something like that.
The promo and the sneak peek for next week look amazing. Looks like there'll be a lot more Shane stuff next week:

Yeah I agree Karolina.. that's my inclination too that he feels it isn't christian to kill them just because they are walkers.
About the sexism.. you have to understand that very little of the women know how to use a gun. Andrea is just starting to learn. Shane and Rick are police officers so are already trained. Maggie is most likely capable but she owes her loyalty first to her own group, so she wouldn't necessarily want or be allowed to go off with them.
If your argument is why aren't there any believable female characters that COULD be on the front line then I see your point, but the ones we have just aren't up to it right now. _________________

| I know the female characters themselves don't know how to use guns, but that was the writer's choice. Why couldn't they have a female cop as part of the group, for example? Then she would have the skill and knowledge to fight back. Instead, most of the male characters are already experienced with guns and weapons whilst they think it's perfectly necessary for the women to wash their clothes and cook their food instead. The only exception is Andrea who is learning to use a gun, but still, it's a man that's teaching her =P |

Changing the characters would really change the story and the dynamic of the show though so I kinda wouldn't want that.
Andrea and Maggie (if she sticks around) will become real strong female characters, I am sure of it. They will be battling on frontlines in no time I thought Maggie's introduction was really awesome. Charging in on horseback and smacking that zombie down was really cool. _________________
