I covered my eyes for the hand thing. I don't do well with gore. Though I'm not sure how much that qualifies as gore, but it is to my tender eyes. _________________

PS: Brooke, you are making me DVR Rollerball to rewatch it right now (it's such a terrible movie). Luckily it's Friday afternoon and I could watch something as bad as a Wife Swap marathon... so I hope I can get through this again, just to confirm how awful I thought it was! (I also own Battlefield Earth for similar reasons.)
(So terrible. Even the title font is terrible. And damned if they don't overuse blue filters and use the most generic 'hard rock' (read: drunk snowboarder) music ever. What the hell was Naveen Andrews doing in this?! ($$$, of course.)) _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

* "The word is rematch and the Horsemen hope it's spelled payback!"
* Horrible exposition of how Rollerball actually works (least spoilery spoiler ever: it doesn't)
OK. 15 minutes in and I'm already regretting my decision to rewatch (particularly since I know the pathetic "twists.") _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

You can't put watching awful movies on me! LOL
I never watched it after renting it. I took it back, was told it was awful by A LOT of people nad just never got around to it.
If I hear mix reviews, I watch. If a lot of people who have the same taste as I do tell me that a movie is bad, I avoid. |

You made me do it! Revenge! I must find a particularly horrible Matthew Fox movie to inflict upon you!
Yeah, I made it about 45 minutes into the rewatch and then decided, 'Screw this; I'll drive down early to campus for the party I have to chaperone tonight.' So, just to be clear, being several hours early to chaperone a club party is better than Rollerball.
(Naveen looked so ridiculously young in that movie too, without facial hair!) _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I am now watching The English Patient while grading papers. (Technically, rewatching, but since I remember next to nothing from it besides the basic plot and that one scene, from having seen it when it came out in theaters, I think it counts as a new watch.)
At least it is more interesting in the first minute or so than grading papers. I'm not sure if Rollerball would have been...
Update! The hair scene for which Eryn told me to keep an eye out--it killed me dead. I was momentarily unable to communicate in full sentences. Thanks, Eryn! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

| I saw Danial Faraday! LOL in Twister and he plays a bit of a nerd. It's a adorable. Sadly he's not in it that long at all, but he's on the 'Twister Team' it's not like he's an extra walking passed or something. |

LOL. I own Speed Racer It was a gift...It wasn't a great movie, but artistically it was beautiful.
There is a movie that I can't find of Matthew's called The Man In The Mask. I make it a rule to never buy a movie I haven't seen before. I've been hurt too many times. |

The commercials for Speed Racer gave me a headache; I didn't bother. If 30 seconds of that was annoying enough...

I know the answer will be no, but: Is it The Man in the Iron Mask, with diCaprio? I don't remember that one getting really, really terrible reviews, but I've never seen it.
I will watch movies for certain actors: I think the worst burn I've gotten with that is Hudson Hawk, where Richard E. Grant plays one of the villains. That movie is the very definition of 'idea so bad it's unsalvageable.' And Bruce Willis is very possibly the least naturally funny man in the universe--and was convinced he was a comic genius throughout that film. Oh, the pain. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

No, it was Man In The Mask with Donald Sutherland and Mary McDonnel. Matthew played a mentally challenged 20 ish year old.
This guy I know made me feel like a moron for watching movies with certain actors in it. His point was that it made me seem shallow. I disagreed. |

That's baloney. Movies involve characters; actors play certain characters.
If you (generic "you," not Brooke specifically) watch a movie because So-and-So appears in a copy of Tiger Beat, yes, that's silly (but we've probably all done it). But how else can you evaluate movies except by actors/directors/script?
Ex.:
Michael Bay's films give me a headache. I will not go see Transformers 2020 or whatever the next one is.
I don't find Tara Reid a good actress. Therefore, her presence in a film is a warning sign.
Same thing with TV:
Ray Romano has never been funny to me. I do not feel the need to subject myself to Everybody Loves Raymond marathons to ensure he's not funny.
Ask your friend: Why would you watch films directed by people you hate and acted by people you hate? Because that's what he seems to think you should do! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

And Tara Reid ... lol she gives me a headache. LOL. I can only watch one movie she's in. Van Wilder. I admit I do like a stupid comedy every now and then.

I can't stand Ray or his 'Everybody Loves Raymond', but I do like that one show he's in. "Men Of A Certain Age",

I cant' believe they brought Tiger Beat back. I was looking for Entertainment Weekily a few months ago because Lost was on the cover, and saw Tiger Beat, that was around when I was a kid. (I think way before my time too).
I usually only follow actors I've seen in stuff. |
