Dont know why I've never headed over to this thread before, but I can assure everyone that Ive never ever thieved from others vids.

Borrowed with permission, yes...but always asked before and given credit afterwards.

I followed the links of the vids, and was happy to see that most of them have been taken down but there are a few that are still up and claiming them as their own. Evil jerkfaces!!

This thread kinda makes me wonder how many videos have been stolen from me without my knowledge

I've seen a couple vids with clips from mine before, but I didn't realize it happened this often...

I thought to myself- Oh no one will steal my video's they are not good enough to steal..........

Then I see a video on HOW TO STEAL VIDEO's from www.keepvid.com and using vegas to shrink the clip and REMOVE the watermark..

The worst part was they were using MY VIDEO as a templete...GEEZZEE. They removed the video after I turned them in but I was in SHOCK...

Ok, so I came across this video the other day http://youtu.be/vSMPfsl-8mU and my alarm bells starting ringing immediately because the colouring looked so familiar...I know it's only subtle, but I could tell Anyway, I've watched the video over and over again and compared it, and I'm sure she's just stole the clips from my Sean/Leila vid here: http://youtu.be/w4aOfN7prH8

I know she's mixed a few of the clips up, added some flashy transitions and a kinda glow. But that's still clip theft right? 'Her clips' start and end on the same frames and the zooms on the ring and kiss in the rain are exactly the same

I messaged her privately on youtube on Monday and explained. I wasn't mean, I gave her the benefit of the doubt, explained what clip theft was, and asked her to respond or remove the vid by today. I know she's read my message because I was keeping an eye on her twitter (the link was in her profile). She basically called me some not-so-nice names and it was apparent that she's not gonnah remove it. I've not had a direct response either, unsurprisingly!

Anyway, I just wanted an outsider's opinion, I'm not being unreasonable, am I? I asked her privately before doing anything publicly. But, am I in the right to go comment on her vid with my accusations and dislike/flag it? ...I feel mean

Ive watched both vids multiple times and I do see the similarities you see, Emma, and even if I wasn't convinced by that, her response does seem to say it all really

Clip theft is horrible and unnecessary. You worked so hard on that video.

Yeah, I agree with Amy.
Not replying to your message and rubbing it in your face on Twitter tthat she's not going to delete the vid says it all.
If she hadn't stolen clips from your vid she would simply tell you that.

I hate it when people steal clips or whole vids and get nasty on top of that

Thanks, Amy and Kaja I'm glad it's not just me seeing things, you've given me piece of mind in trying to get her to remove it. I think I'll leave a comment on the actual vid and hopefully she'll get the message
