lol Kat. Maybe it's just me. I always ask a lot of questions with the contests to make sure I get it right. I understood it fine up until you said we'd be marked down for adding ships though. I wasn't sure if you meant any mention of ships at all, or just if it was overall. I get it now. Thankies. I'll try not to bug you guys anymore.

LOL so much confusion...lol....so Kat maybe my latest Kate vid that I just submitted can be used as an example b/c even though there are many ships involved I think the bulk of the video shows how those ships define Kate as a character I dont' know I could be wrong but let me know after you watch it if you think its a good example...

8 sec left to finish august contest and i´m thinking in the september contest, i have a few ideas but i dont know if i can do it for the contest,here we go:
1.- Sweet Surrender-Ana Lucia (its ok for her?with a little Jack in it, but only as a friend?)
2.- I love you-Jack POV (its allowed a jate vid with only Jack POV?i mean,he meet Kate he fall in love,she kiss him and run away and he only wants say to her "I love you")

for the first 1; Sweet Surrender, it's fine as long as it's mainly about Ana and not all about Ana and Jack's relaitionship.
for I Love you; no it wouldn't fit the contest as it's about Jack wanting to say I love you to Kate and thus not about Jack's himself as a character.

did you want Sweet Surrender and Ana locked down for you in the list?

No, it's just we want the vid to fall in the category of Character Study, not shipper. So it's all right if shipping is a part of the vid, but when all is said and done, if you had to pick a category for it to go into, you want it to still be a Character Study. If it falls more in the Shipper category, then the shipper element is too strong.

Another way to tell, if, as you're doing your vid, you plan on having alternating point's of view, then that's a shipper vid. So if it's like, "This verse is Sawyer's and this verse is Kate's" then that's a shipper vid. Or if the entire point of the vid is to show how Jack and Juliet end up together, then that's a shipper vid UNLESS you're doing a character study of ONE of them and your showing their character arc on how they've always been alone or something like that. Then the ship is part of the character study but it's not the point of the vid.

Like I said, it's basically if you look at the vid as a whole and you have to categorize it, you want it to be a Character Study, focused on ONE character, not trying to tell the story of how these two characters fell in love or whatever and that's the whole point of the vid.

So we won't be scouring your vids and taking points off every time you have two characters in the same shot. But if you submit a Shipper vid instead of a Character Study, then you'll lose points because, well, this is a Character Study contest, lol!
