It has to be mainly a character study. hints of ships are okay but the bulk of the video has to be about the one character and his/her life.

as long as it's mainly about Kate then it goes with the rules. We're not saying you can't do a ship; you just have to be aware that if you do it will be marked down since it doesn't follow the rules

I found a couple of Character Study descriptions on Google; hopefully they'll help you guys with the comp:D:D

* concentrates on a single character and his or her development through a story arc, or his or her personal struggles.
* An in depth story of a certain character explaining his/her history or point of view.

So, if his/her major personal struggles and character developments involve another character, will we be marked down for adding them in, even if it's in a small part of the vid and the majority is about the main character? I plan on adding a little bit of Sana, as one of the ways Ana "messed up".

the BULK of the video has to be about the character, in your case Ana. You will be marked down if the video is clearly Sana from start to finish. But using Sana as well as Ana's life off-isnald, on-island, flashbacks, her relationship with mother maybe, etc is ok.
