I think he just wants to get off The Island on Penny's Boat or not. But I don't see why he didn't go with Locke and the others after he caused all that comotion about it not being penny boat and stuff!

Okay so i'm fairly late on this discussion, but i'm still jumping in! (I was busy last night so I taped it and ended up watching it at like one in the morning )

So, how creepy was whats his face at the end? "Are you Jack?" that put Ben's creepy-badguy vibes to shame! And then of course in next weeks preview, "We can't say rescuing your people is our prime objective."

As for the rest of the Oceanic Six... well first, wow, I can't believe six people only got off. The whole vibe of the flashforwards is dark... like they did something really awful and left other people behind and now they're all lying about it... I wonder what happened that caused them to abandon all their friends?

I'm on the fence as to whether I think Sawyer is one of the six. You think it would be, with kate's whole, "I have to get back to him" last season... All I can say is that i'd rather have it be him than a kid or something. it seems like it won't be, because he went with Locke, but then again, so did Hurley.

This isn't really a spoiler, but i'm putting it in spoiler blocks anyway, but all it is from an article in TV guide where Evi made two guesses as to who "him" that's waiting for her was, and TV guide said, "One of her guesses was right." So if you don't want to know the guesses, don't read.

So I think they'll end up going back to the island, but the question is, how long will it take the six to get off, and then in all that between time, how long does it take them to get back? Is Aaron going to be like sixteen?

And oh! Before I go.... JATE HUG!!!! I loved it and was freaking out until I realized she was being a snarky little sneaky scarlet woman. Still, a Jate hug is a Jate hug!!!

And this episode scared me a little. More than any of the others. When Naomi hopped down from that tree! And Jacob.... holy crap.

Anyway, I can't wait til next week!!!!

Guys, I think you explained it to yourselves right there! I'm not saying Sawyer doesn't care about Kate- I think he does, but I think he cares about himself more. Do I think he would protect her? Of course. On impulse and in sudden situations, but when he has time to think about it he always does what's best for him. I think Jack, if he made the decision to go with Locke, would convince her to come. Sawyer is always hot and cold, and passionate then apathetic. I realize the same could be said of Jack (or even of Kate), but still. If he truly does love her, I don't know why he didn't make more of an effort either. Maybe in later episodes we'll see him come back to her though. Only time will tell!!!

But meanwhile... I'm campaigning for Jate 08. Lol.

P.S.- All that above was just my opinion, and I hope I worded it well enough not to offend anyone or start a ship war. Lol.

I haven't seen the ep yet... mainly cuz I don't know where to find downloads *lol* but I saw this and had to reply: at the end of S3, Desmond had the greatest hits note in his shirt pocket (where Charlie put it) and then he dived into the water after Charlie, so that says to me that unless JJ and the team come up with some way for the paper and ink to be waterproof, she probably isn't gonna get to see it... which makes me REALLY sad for her

hehe I was just going to mention that. I've thought that about fact since last year's finale. Unless of course....this letter has the same super paper/anti-water qualities that Sawyer's letter seemed to have. lol I always thought that was a goner too...unless he left it 'at home' before he went on the raft, but I doubt it.

He was in the water for say maybe 5 minutes. I still think it could have dried out and be just about readable. We'll see but it would be a shame if that wasn't taken advantage of. It was written in magic marker so the ink wouldn't rub off it's just if the paper would disnitegrate.

lol That's true. I often think of things in 'real life' terms. It makes sense that it will be brought up again, but I think it'd be more heartbreaking if he gave it to her and she couldn't make it out completely except for maybe the last one.

Sassy, so what's up with Sawyer?do you think he feels like he's not good enough for Kate now that he killed the "real" Sawyer. It's like he's letting Jack have her. But I have a feeling that Kate is going to go back for Sawyer just like she went back for Jack. That's just what she does.

I think maybe he does feel like that. I think that whole Skate scene in TTLG was a big deal for him, because he got hit with a double whammy from Kate. If he was harsh, he had reason. Anthon is still an open, bleeding wound for Sawyer, he just can't talk about it right now...as for pregnancy, well, that's a pretty sensitive subject as well, he hardly knew what to say except something biting. So yes, I think that he thinks he's not good enough for her at the moment, but I also think a lot of it is that he has a lot of emotional stuff going on and he just can't be close to her right now, as much as he wants to be....
