--> My father's mother (first name) and my mother's mother (middle name)

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
--> In Chile, on the phone long-distance with dad. Freaking out drunk at $2 per minute. Hell yes.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
--> Yes; it's neat and clear. Writing for me is tough, though, due to a blood clot and missing fingertips, so I rarely handwrite. It's why I'm always on the laptop.

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
--> Turkey or seafood salad, by default, though I don't eat a lot of meat (and don't eat red meat or pork at all.)

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
--> Nope, just a cat.

--> I'd at least be an acquaintance. I'm entertaining enough, but I don't know if I'd be close friends with myself. I think both selves would be rather weirded out by really close friends who were so like themselves. (Figure that one out.)

--> Never. I am incapable of mastering the art of wit.

--> Kashi, Kix when I'm feeling like a kid, Great Grains: Pecan (without the demon-fruit raisin), Product 19 when they still made it. I can't eat really sugary cereals, although I do have a sweet tooth.

--> Yes.

--> Yes. I worked at a profoundly mentally retarded home for a year, and had to lift patients who weighed 50-60 lbs., so for 95 lbs. myself, I'm at least not a weakling.

--> Rocky Road, or this flavor made at the convenience store where I grew up - vanilla with a cherry swirl and red and blue Pop Rocks, called 'Fireworks.' It's completely childish but delicious.

I never get comments. I'm not surprised! My stuff is long and action-packed, and I don't ship a damn thing. (It doesn't suck, though. Same username there as here, if you want to be Internet Friends.)

Kat- I KNOW! No offence, but I feel the same way about my vids. I'm not referring to anyone here, but on some other sites I belonged to, people would be like "I'll check out your vid" and then poof, they leave the site or it has been months later and they never left a comment. I enjoy reading comments from hard work especially I mean I hardly get comments...

absolutely, added you in my fave authors i think in all my fics for all fandoms (Lost, 24, CSI, Supernatural, House) ive added an OFC (original fictional character) and most people arent really accepting of them aw, well, ill keep writing for the limited fans that i do have

I agree with you there on the vids, Kate. ppl say that to me all the time. or I get the "I love your vids" comment in a pm or something and i've never actually seen a comment for them in the vid thread.

Haha. I completely changed around the plotline/made a deliberate continuity break because I started writing during the start of S2 and then Benry came along a short while later when I was about fifteen chapters in, and I was like, 'Well, there goes my plot,' so decided to branch out.

Still, it's kind of creepy what I predicted. The two main ones:

• The villain (Ben, for lack of a better villain at the moment)'s general appearance, personality, etc.
  
• Them finding a truck/van in the woods

Especially the last one. I should be hired and writing for them, for Pete's sake.

It's been done to me too.That's the one thing I hate when I post up my videos, and I don't just make videos for comments of course, but I'd love a comment or two from your fellow friends on the site you know? It kinda makes you feel proud of your vidding skills. It's an awesome feeling

yeah, it is nice wen ppl comment ur vids. I didn't get a lot of comments wen i started but ive found when you do something that's totally out of the norm for Lost, more ppl watch. like my kate/claire vid has the most comments i think. so maybe try an AU? they're fun to make

I don't get PMs on my vids generally, but I get the feeling that with my vids, people either like them a lot (ie, enough to comment) or not at all (considering I pick some pretty unfamiliar songs, so it takes at least a bit of patience for that), and that accounts for the huge run of comments on some of my stuff and the under-five counts on others.

That and I tend to choose songs for the lyrics first, so I tend to a lot of stuff that I've heard but other people haven't.

I'm also an extremely fast vidder. Case in point: Check out YouTube or keep your eyes peeled later today, on here. I am not that much of a perfectionist, which probably grates on some people's nerves, although I think my vidding skills are improving to the point where I can turn out something sharp in a quick enough time to please myself.

(I also, as mentioned, don't ship anything - I've done probably two vids that could be called Skate, and then the Boone vid that had Shannon in it, but the Skate vid was only because the lyrics were so perfect, or I wouldn't have done it. I actually dislike Kate as a character. And I don't do AU and it honestly doesn't appeal to me, so there's that, too.)

im a fast vidder too last night i banged out a season 4 promo in a few hours. im glad I can vid fast enough and good enough to please myself, too, cos if it took too long id probably not have the patience

Kat- Well yeah AU sounds fun, I wasn't good at thinking of clips for that, nor songs. I'm sure I could do it though. I'm just hoping more people notice my Hurley vid, not just for the contest but just the sake of the vid, because it explains alot about him. I know I gotta give it some time anyways

Kate/Kat- I am a very fast vidder, I only heard about the contest and I finished it in 5 days. I am somtimes to fast, and that's not always a good thing, but somtimes it is.

Hey, maybe one of you guys can explain why AU's interesting, anyway. (Kind of a rant coming up, hurray!)

Because to me: (obligatory note: this is just my opinion; do not take it as gospel; nothing against any AU vid out there) AU to me seems too easy, honestly. I mean, if you just have random footage of (mostly) good-looking people with, let's face it, kind of stereotypical portrayals (doctor, criminal, mystic, father, everybody's best friend, junkie, etc. etc. etc.), you can make a coherent story out of any of that, set anywhere in the world that Lost has shown us, using any song out there.

It seems to me that it's more challenging to find a song that fits Lost, and fits the characters' current situations, and that vidding that takes more work than vidding some AU story that the show hasn't told us yet, and may never tell us. So what am I missing here, when it comes to AU? It may just be a matter of my personal preference, but I would be interested in hearing what y'all think.

Well, I'm not the one to judge on it really. If anyone, Kat should know because she's had alot of great AU's. AU's are new to me, this site was the first time I've ever seen them. I think AU's fun and unique, but it's not my type. Character, even season studies, and Jun ship vids are my favorites. Sometimes it gets boring to see the same ships, though the real ships on Lost aren't boring, it's always fun to stretch your creativity with a made-up one. That's what I think..
