Being on the Island so long is bound to have changed her. Especially if she is being held there like Jack & co!

Maybe she has to be a little harder and perhaps more cruel to survive living there.

I like her a little more now, but I still wouldn't trust her.

Sorry about the mixup...

Ill probably never trust her. As for the regarding Ben as a father thing, thats true, but it really is finding out that the person who "raised" you is actually one that stole you from a mother who loves you. I cant take it, grrr. Besides she already seems pretty dettached from them, seeing as the fact that they are evil et al.

Yeah I think I just like ryaling you guys up about Jate...hehe!

I'm here finally

That was a great ep, yet it still felt like just a stepping stone to something else, so there's not much I can really comment on.

That sad music always gets me... man, you could just play that anywhere any it'd be hard not to see a touched face. Plus, that scene where said music was in was awesome lol.

What I liked most about this was what we learned. Alex being the daughter of Ben - THAT was interesting . More for the fact that it connects Danielle . Suddenly I'm thinking a lot about her - for one thing, how she captured Ben and (if Alex in indeed their kid) presumably recognized him. Plus, that whole room 23 thing would explain her mental state if they did that to her too What if they hooked her up to it and made her think she killed everyone? Maybe they needed someone to cover their tracks so in case anyone should ever run into the island, they'd find Danielle and she could just assure them they were dead.
Either way, that whole sickness thing is suddenly MUCH less plausible in my mind with Danielle's credibility suddenly taking a dip with the possibility of her being subjected to room 23 .

We also learned that something awful is going on. If Juliette was willing to kill a colleague that easily just for the promise of freedom from the island from Ben, of all people, that tells me she is desperate. I mean, even Michael wouldn't have done what he did just to get off the island - he just did it to save Walt. And that's not even taking into account that Ben and co have been living in good conditions (even if for 3 years ), unlike the 815-ers. And it seems Ben's word has great worth, for Juliette to take it just like that, and for the others to follow it so willingly. I'm really starting to like him even more lately .

lol I find it amusing how the Jaters are trying to prove how there was a Jate Moment (TM), like it's on the rocks or something . Obviously Jate isn't going away anytime soon . But if you want to ship war, I'm sure there are plenty of Skaters here dying to rub your faces in the fact that Jack and Kate are now a whole island apart . Yet I see none... what's that say about them hmm?

Ug, room 23 is gonna give me freaking nightmares. I never went along with all the bull that the island was for psychological tests in humans, but after that I'm slightly more inclined to believe it.
Speaking of tests - hmmm, I wonder what Dharma would be so in need of a fertility doctor for in the last 3 years, especially since Ethan was the one administering Claire all that time she was captured (though maybe Juliette was just there for that operation they were planning?)

Tom is hilarious . I like these Others more and more each ep .

So, next week we're back to the home turf huh? Oh man, I fear what my Locke does this time. *please please don't do something stupid* He still needs to earn his #1 spot back (or rather, these writers need to prove they can handle him )

Hobbes,I don't think that there's war between us here Jaters and Skaters.I was saying that the moment was really touching and emotional.
Well keep in mind that Kate [spoiler:af6e414def]will go with Sayid and Locke to save Jack...but i don't think that this is only because she felt guilty leaving him behind. We'll wait and see.[/spoiler:af6e414def]

I think guilt is a huge part of it...I think it could be ANYONE still "over there"- if it were any of our group, I think they would go after them.

Regarding Jate. We all see what we want to see I guess. I don't see anything in that scene that suggests a "just friends" vibe. But there's nothing explicitly "we're in love" about it either. It certainly was a heartbreaking goodbye, showed that they both really care about each other and that leaving each other behind is something that hurts them both very much. Jack by being the strong stoic one so that she could be free and Kate by not wanting to let go of him (in whatever way you think she's holding on to him, romantic or otherwise.) On the other hand, if Jack and Kate were "just friends" there would be no triangle.

as I said everyone have their own opinion about that , and as you said we all see, what we want (I never thought about myself that I want to see things, that does't exist , but anyway...)
I agree that Kate had romantic feelings for Jack, first season was a big proof that she truly want be with him 'cause she thought he is good, hero, even a doctor (as her first love Tom)..and so on... And that's why triangle was really exist, and many many people even thought (mostly Jaters) that this is all about Jate and that Sawyer is't a Reality for this triangle (I even read such interviews from Mattew Fox a year ago as I remember right).
At the end of frist season, and than through second season her feelings started to change, well may be for Jack they was't changing, but for Sawyer absolutely. "What Kate did" was a big proof for it, she run from Jack because her truly feelings not belong to him, her head always want her to be with Jack, but not her heart (our heart sometimes could make us crazy, well at least in my life it so )
First 6 episodes show to whom her heart is really belong in a romantic way. Why she ask about Sawyer from Ben in first place? (may be you know psihologyst Freid, well, and in his books you can see the theory, that we usually asking something like that because of our feelings (even if we don't think this feelings exist), that's why she asked about Sawyer, and Ben was like - "Why Sawyer first"...sorry for my english btw, it's terrible I know )

Jack always will be the part of triangle, but not that triangle that we saw at first season, even at second, 'cause for now, I absolutely sure it will still exist, but in another light - because of future skate angst, like jeluos Sawyer, [spoiler:bd979c6dce]with Kate bringing Jack back operation[/spoiler:bd979c6dce], or Sawyer will think that truly her heart with Jack, and he could't be her mate, 'cause he is not so perfect as Jack and so on ('cause skate totally could't be a happy couple )....But anyway, who knows, anything could happen , I could be totally wrong, but I think this triangle is very similar with star wars Luke/Leia/Han (and I know creators are big fans of star wars ) Han was jeleous about Luke/Leia even when she said to him she love him , and was relax only when he found out that Luke is her brother ...

Walkie-Talkie scene for me was absolutely adorable, well played by actors, Jack and Kate have a really deep connection, and he really mean a lot to her. But anyway, was't you confused that Juliet actually remind Kate that she must talk to Jack before leaving on boat?

And about truly Kate feelings, I think you saw the latest Lost magazine, Evageline Lilly tells everything to whom Kate heart belong romantically..

this is how I see this show now, and triangle specially. Of course I could be wrong with my point of view, and you could be right As gregg nations from fuselage always saying - we must "wait and see", 'cause who knows, everything could happen, it Lost after all And it could be Jate at the end, or skate at the end..Well, and personally I think Kate will stay alone at the end

You've made some good points Savanna.
But I do think that Kate is still genuinely torn between Jack and Sawyer.
And I think that she's starting to think that she rushed into making a choice. I could be wrong.
I still think that she has feelings for Jack. Feelings don't just go away.
And in my opinion these feelings showed in the walkie/talkie scene. And I taotally agree with KC here.

I don't want to turn this in to a Jate Vs Skate debate.
But I honestly do find Jate much more believable than the whole Skate thing!
I'll admit that sometimes they are great together, but maybe only as a friendship thing.
I totally didn't buy the 'I love you too' scene in the last episode! Even if he does love her I doubt he would say it! It's not his style.
Besides how can he say he loves her when a couple of days earlier he was having dirty jungle sex with Ana-Lucia!!!

I honestly don't think this triangle will ever end!
And maybe in the end she'll end up with neither!
Or perhaps the three of them will live together happily ever after!

Well we've turned this into Jate vs Skate debate.
So here's what Evie thinks about Jack/Kate relationship after 7th Episode

Quote:
But what about the relationship Jack has going with Evangeline Lilly’s character Kate? “I don’t think that book is closed at all,” says Lilly. “Kate has a real journey to go on with Jack, in that they’ve never addressed the underlying current of attraction and love between them….It has to be addressed.”

It's from EW magazine.

It's far from over and i think that we must stop duscussing the whole "only friendship" thing.

I'm as like alone skater here, so it's complicated to debate with you all Jaters

You have your articles , we have ours (and I was saying about offcial issues). I wrote my own opinion about how I feel the whole skate/jate thing. And I was't wroting my point of view only on article that I saw. I don't want to debate. Jate is Fate, it's not a a deep friendship for you, ok, I agree with your opinions. It's LOVE and Skate is LUST, relations for one day only. Not deep, Sawyer is not a hero, and Jack is...I understood all this bashing skate stuf long time ago and I don't want to debate, you always right that is all I understand, I bring my points, you bringing yours, ok.

And btw if I remembered right from the same magazine was guote this summer from Damon "Jaters would't be dissapointed". And you was't dissapointed?

And I am absolutely sure, that if we were on different shippers sides, and all stuff that happened with Skate was Jate, you all now would laugh at me if I was still denying Jate.

And other one, in 6 episode of third season. Kate talked to Jack, as always feel sorry, that she was trying to save Sawyer life...Anyway, WHY if she so in love with Jack, when after she back to the cages in next 10 minutes she slept with Sawyer. Why if she LOVE Jack, she was't thinking about Jack all the time after she met him after two non-meetings weeks? Can I say, that if I was on her place and was so in love with Jack, than I totally would't slept with any one else in a next 10 minutes. IMHO
--
and in 7 episode was scene with Carl and Alex. Carl said "I love you", Alex kissed him back. Nothing familiar?

ok your not the only skater now i'm just gonna say well my mom got me the lost magazine today cause the snow was too bad to get it yesterday and i do have so much faith in skate and the interview theres one bit which really sticks out for me

Quote:
For Lilly, she says it was a moment that finally felt earned. "By virtue of being caged together, in a way, they were forced into intimacy. That was an effect on a human being, to face your worst nightmare has an effect on you, which is unsettling and unnerving and strips you bare. I feel that is a huge part of how Kate became vunerable enought to cry out that she loves a man and actually offer him her kiss, instead of letting him kiss her. I think because she was stripped so bare, when Sawyer says, 'I was trying to give you hope,' the idea that in all of his hell he was trying to protect Kate broke her down. It opened her up to offer him this little nugget of love, which was her kiss. Even after she did it. He asks, 'What was that for?' and she says. 'I don't know,' when clearly she knows. Obvioulsy, the actual answer is, 'I love you, and i don't know how to say it because I am afraid to say it.' He is so much like her that when she says that, he hears, 'I love you,' and then kisses her back. I think the writers did it so beautifully because it was real and grown up

I loved that when i reading the magazine that was my favourite paragraph of the interview and really gave more of an insight of that scene and what it really meant to the pair

Since everyone is talking about interviews and stuff, i'd just like to add what i've read about the whole Jate/Skate thing (this stuff is pretty recent. Taken from interviews i've read online):

"I think that it's gonna be the Jack and Kate thing in the end."
---Matthew Fox

"Don’t give up on Jack and Kate yet. Sawyer won the battle for her affections, but he ain’t won the war!"
---Damon Lindelof

"The more time spent on the island, the more Jack would sort of represent to Kate what she would want--stability and comfort and a real adult love, as opposed to that kind of lusty, frothy, ‘making out in the middle of a torture session’ kind of thing."
---Damon Lindelof

"The bond between Kate and Jack is kind of the ULTIMATE relationship."
---Carlton Cuse

And this was on the 'Lost Survivor Guide': "Jack is the man Kate should be with. She genuinely loves him, and he is better for her. Except she is more drawn to Sawyer, like the bad guys she's been with before, and maybe he doesn't treat her the way she would like, but there's something mysterious about him, and she's drawn to it." -- Cuse and Lindelof

Back to the episode now:

When she mentions the thing about being scared and the fear being real, the emotion that comes over her face and the fact that she has trouble getting the words out really spoke volumes. I don't know if this was Evie over-emoting (which I don't think it was; some of the best acting this season, IMO!) but I just feel like there's a lot of significance to the way she told the story. At the end, she says "You fixed her. You saved her."

WOAH loving them quotes
I agree I was so waiting for her to go "you saved me" lol. The way she said that was like gah! My jaw dropped and my eyes were watering.

From my opinion here, non of the jaters are "Bragging" or trying to "start something" we are stating the fact that we found the scene emotional and after waiting months for something we get dropped with this! *an awsome, well acted scene*

And savanna, I actually wasn't disappointed with the jate. I thought it was well handled and the way jack put his life on the line even after seeing her with Sawyer shows how strong he feels for her.
And the way he told her to run? Sound like he knew her so well. And was in character.

Infact I had a skater tell me on MSN (I won't say the name incase she doesn't want to be) tell me not to give up faith in jate cuz she knows it's not over.

I think jack has started to realise that Kate um..."loved" him and is starting to feel that back for her. I DON'T think it's too late, she might just need more persuading from jack, (not that he'd have to persuade me much). He realised he has had a chance and now she feels rejected by him.

I'm not taking any bets on jate or skate, i'm gunna see how it plays. As long as it's handled realistically and sensibly I'm not bothered.
