Contest: Parental Figures
Deadline: June 3 - extended!
With Mother's Day being celebrated in the U.S. and in many other countries all over the world this month - and Father's Day coming up in June - it's time to praise two of the most important persons in people's lives: their mothers and fathers.
They are the ones who are always there - no matter what - with love, care, help and advice. They guide us along our way. They'll always help and protect us.
So this month's contest is dedicated to all those wonderful TV/movie moms & dads and their love for their children. We want you to portray those precious mother/child- and father/child-relationships.
To be more specific:
Please focus on either one TV/movie mom or one TV/movie dad and their relationship with their child or children.
You can also use parental figures who are not necessarily blood-related to their fosterlings/protégés (e.g. Harry Potter/Sirius Black or Bella Swan/Esme Cullen etc.) as long as you can convincingly show how they serve as mother-/father-replacements.
Most importantly though: Have fun!!!
The Rules
Specific Contest Rules
• Make a video portraying either a mother-child or father-child relationship.
• Mother- and father-"like" figures are ok as well, as long as you can show that and how they serve as mother-/father-replacements.
• Canon only. No AUs or OCs.
• Running time should be under five minutes. We suggest the 3 - 5 minute range.
• The more creative, the better. Don't be afraid to take risks.
• When entering your video on the Submit page, you MUST enter "May 2013 contest submission" exactly in your vid's description.
General Contest Rules:
• Contest submissions should be entered through the Submit page.
• All regular submissions Rules apply.
• Only one entry per vidder.
• Videos already submitted and RELEVANT can be submitted again, but we would rather see something fresh. (Please contact a CM if you wish to enter a previously-submitted video)
• Please do not use Rapidshare, Yousendit, Mediafire, or Sendspace as your only hosting place as the links tend to expire quickly.
• If you're using Youtube as your primary link, please also provide us with an alternative link. Far too often, YT is either disabled or muted by the time the contest is ready to be judged. Mediafire and zshare are just a couple of the sites out there that can be used as reliable backup links. We do realise that there have been a lot of issues with file-sharing websites recently but if you can find anywhere that you're comfortable uploading to and that is easily accessible, that would be great!
• Keep in mind that however you choose to host your video, it must be available to be watched at least until after the deadline has passed. If we can not access your video at the time of judgment it will not be considered.
