I know most of you are coming in here looking for the usual. You're expecting to see what this months contest will be. Well I hate to disappoint but that's not going to happen this month. We have an amazing contest planned and it and all information on what will be going on in November will be released to you guys at the same time as everyone else. Due to the nature of the contest it's only fair. So pay close attention to the main site today/tomorrow (depending on what time zone your in...lol...November 1st) because we hope to have the updates prepared by the end of the day. Get those creative juices flowing because you're going to need them this month!!!

All I can tell you is there are a lot of awesome stuff coming this month and while I pushed hard to have everything ready by the 1st that didn't happen but it's no ones fault. E has gotten stuck working 13-15 hour days the past week so we're just having to wait around on him getting time to check the site to make sure everything is ready to show you guys. I'm told we should be up and running with the surprises this month hold within the next 24-36 hours.

The long awaited time is upon us. In just a little while we will be kicking off our Novembers events. Since the launch is upon us I will give you guys a bit of information.
LVI is celebrating it's first anniversary on November 16th! To commemorate this historic moment for LVI we're holding a wide variety of contests and events. I think everyone will be able to find something that will appeal to them this month. We will even be offering up prizes (yes you read that right) but these prizes are very special (but you have to wait for the site update to find out what they are  ).
Pay very close to the main site because it is going to go up very soon and when it does let the celebration begin!!! We hope to make this an annual event but we will need to see the support from all of you and the Lost vidding fandom to make this worth it. Here's to a month of fun!!!

Contest information for the November Contest is now available! Go check it out and get your ideas flowing. But remember this is just the beginning of a month of great events. This is also the contest where the prizes are available so the stakes are higher then any other contest we've had before.

I can't wait to see what all of you come up with for this.
If any of you are artistically inclined could you maybe make up some banners and avatars to commemorate LVI's Anniversary activities? We were so busy trying to make sure everything worked and was put together properly that this part of our plans to have these already made got put on hold. So if you guys can make us some stuff for the activites we'd be grateful. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.

If you do this all I ask is if you put music over it you do some good mixing of the sound. The one thing that usually ends up hurting a lot of videos with audio running over them is the audio breaks up or the music overpowers it. One of the best examples I've seen lately of solid sound editing is Season 2 Introduction by Boby . Check that out for tips on good sound balance. The audio dips down when the dialogue comes in then the music goes back up.
There is nothing to say you can't use the clips you are talking about but to ensure you make a strong run at the prizes I recommend to everyone using audio in there entries to pay close attention to the sound balance. Make sure the dialogue isn't cut off by thte music and make sure you edit in a way that it doesn't break-up. It's not an easy thing to do but when it's done right it gives a video some incredible depth.
