I am indifferent towards this episode...I just thought you guys would be peeved because it didnt further the "now" any...

I still think Im onto something with the Donovan song...

Just watched this ep over again, and it was even better the second time!
Try watching it over, you might find a few things you missed.

I truly loved the flashbacks in this episode to death, Desmond's past story is easily one of the more interesting/suspenseful so far. Everyone had to love the amazing flashback device they used at the end, totally kool... and quite possibly the best done twist ending ever.. I will be amazed and surprised if they can pull off a better episode than this by the end of this season (before the finale anyways).

While I loved this episode, and I LIKE Penny. It's far from the most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen. I mean it's sad and sort of adorable. Cause it's Desmond y'see.

What makes the story of Penny and Desmond spectacular to ME is the last scene of last season. She's still looking for him. After all that time.

That would have been cool.
Wierd though, at first with the red paint I was all "EEEEEEWH!" then it was red paint

I was just thinking about this ep...as you do! And I'm a little confused by something...
The reason Desmond can see the future is because he had his life flash before his eyes, right?
And then the flashes kept going, showing him the future, yeah? One of these flashes was Charlie being electrocuted?
So if Charlie was already electrocuted and dead then how did he also see a flash of him drowning trying to save Claire?

because he saw the drowning after he saved charlie once so he wasnt dead

Yep, that's his ability now. He has seen his whole life flash before his eyes, which means all the way to his death probably. Which means he can see into the future because he has already lived it before, but Desmond is only able to see some things through his visions, he is not able to control it (Who knows maybe in the future he will be able to perfect it?). It will be interesting to see how this ability helps the Losties out, and how much "we get to see"

It didn't live up to the hypre really did it? Everyone thought it was gona be amazing but, not really. It didn't suck, it just didn't amaze me.
