You're probably not talking to me since I don't do the sophisticated 3-D animations that people like Hobbes and Polarbear do. However, what I use for my basic still pic animations are Paintshop Pro 8 and Animation Shop 3 to build the GIF animations, then I import them into good ol' Windows Movie Maker (I've used both versions 1 and 2).
Most other people use some version of Sony Vegas to do their animations, I believe. Hobbes can probably tell you about some even MORE killer animation programs, too...

Don't mind my occasional quoting of one of my vids lol:
Most of my stuff was mostly done in Vegas (like Hallelujah), or still frame stuff (like Horoscope for Today). And so far the only one that has used 3D animation was Speed of Sound. That was done at my school computer using the program Cinema 4D Release 8. However, I don't recommend it for anyone just looking for some vidding effects, because it takes months to learn, and much much longer to master (I am not even close to that, after a year and a half of it ) however, if you're interested in animation by itself, you should definitely check it out.
Hope that helps!
And Aiylnn, you are still the queen of animation! I may have my fancy programs, but you put so much more work into it! |

Anyone remember Deluxe Paint? Man that is oldskool but it was an old paint program that had a really nifty animation function. We used to sit at school and come up with this lame animations of stuff blowing up. If anyone knows any simple animation programs with just like frames then let me know because I would love to have it!
I just use Sony vegas for animation although it can be pretty jerky. I'd much rather have a program for it. _________________

Thanks for the replies, they have helped me some much!
I remeber at school going on a stick man animator and that was a frame by frame animation. Like Polarbear said, people do animations of really odd things blowing up!! _________________
