Hey guys! Just got back from a long weekend at a writer convention called Imaginarium. I posted about it on here about a month or two ago.
I had a blast. I sold a couple of books. Met some great new people that have helped me learn things to get my name out there as a writer.
I was just wondering if anyone wanted to see pictures from the convention? I wasn't able to actually take any because I was so busy, but my friend that went with me took tons, and she has sent me some (with tons more to come my way soon ... after decompressing of course) but as I get the pictures in, I would love to share them with you all if you'd like to see them, so just let me know.
This is something I'm definitely doing again next year! _________________
Okay, so there are quite a few pictures & just three videos. So I sorted them into their individual spots, and stuck them into spoiler tags cos they are kinda big.
Spoiler:
"From Bloodbath to Bedroom panel" This was my first panel on Sunday, and my 3rd panel overall for the weekend. During this panel we discussed the importance of adding romance to your mystery/thriller books. Why, it's important, how to go about doing it correctly (which is different for every writer), and how much/little detail you should use depending on who your audience/reader is.
Spoiler:
This was the costume contest that was held Saturday night. You could dress up as anything you wanted to, as long as they were rooted in literary some how. I dressed up as "The Mad Hatter" and my friend dressed up as "Daisy Buchanan" We saw such amazing costumes at this. Most made their own costumes it was so cool.
Spoiler:
"Fanfiction Panel" This was my first panel Saturday, and my first panel all weekend. It was also my favorite panel. We (the panelist) had such fun talking fandoms, shipping, and why writing fanfiction helps us be better authors. Some of us panelist were a little naughty/dirty in our descriptions, which made it all the more fun! I also introduced the entire panel & the audience to Jamie Dornan's nickname on OUAT "Sheriff Hotpants" which was loved by everyone!
And here are a couple of videos to accompany the panel.

Spoiler:
This is us hanging out in front of the imaginarium film festival. I didn't actually go to the film festival due to time constraints, but I heard some good films were saw there.
Spoiler:
This is from the masquerade ball. I had never been to one previously, but had a blast. Even got up and danced a couple of times.
"Page to Screen" panel. This was my last panel Sunday/all weekend. It was also my least favorite panel to be a part of. I thought it would be discussing books that have already been made into movies and what was done correctly and incorrectly. However, it was about how to write screenplays and stuff like that.
Spoiler:
Last but not least we have the vendor hall, where you could buy a table to sell and sign your books. I didn't have as much time in the hall as I would have liked, which caused me to not be able to sell many books.
