|
|
Okay, so I've scoured the web and found only Kmplayer and VLC player that screen cap videos. I used to use Kmplayer, but I downloaded it and I cannot get it to work, it keeps giving me some error message about superspeed mode.
I cannot figure out how to do it with VLC player, I even searched for tutorials but none of them have helped.
Do you guys know of any other free screencapping software, or know how to fix one of the above problems? I would be forever thankful! _________________

I either use Windows Media Player or Vegas to take screencaps. For WMP, I just pause it where I want it, hit the Print Screen key, then paste the picture into Paintshop and crop it to the correct size. For Vegas I put the clip I want to cap on the timeline, make sure that I have the preview box set to full size and good quality, then just click the Save Snapshot button that's right above the preview window.
It looks like the Kmplayer superspeed mode error is fairly common, a quick Google search came up with this. Maybe something in there that they suggested will help? I hope you'll be able to get something to work for you! |

Thanks Aislynn. I would have used the vegas way, but I'm wanting to do screencaps for my site, and that would take far too much time :S.
I looked over that thread, but it didn't seem to help. I'll keep looking though, thanks though! _________________

As far as I know, VLC doesn't make screencaps automatically? But KMplayer is the best!!! I love it, it makes screencaps so easily!
I'll try and remember to upload you the one I have if I can. If I forget just drop me a PM! |

In VLC, if you play the video and just right click on the video then click 'snapshot' it should just save it. (Or, a longer way, you can go into 'video' at the top, and choose 'snapshot' from there.) Mine saves it as a .png file to my desktop. I'm on a mac, but I'd presume you can do it on a pc in exactly the same way I hope that helps and you can get it to work _________________

My friend uploaded the KMPlayer she has (check out www.billiepiperfan.com for the results she gets) - I'll have a look if I can find the link later, it's on Twitter somewhere _________________
