I would prefer instrumental. But lyric music will be fine too.
I am doing a sad video and I love to come here and pick people's brains on music.
I am looking for either guitar or piano.
Does anyone have any ideas? |

Check out the Doctor Who soundtrack. I can promise there's something sad there. First ones that come to mind... Rose's Theme, Doomsday and The Rueful Fate Of Donna Noble _________________

Holy Crap Nuggets! That score is awesome.
I am in love with the Doomsday score.
I don't watch this show because I don't have BBC.
Thanks!
BTW is the composer Murray Gold? I checked on imdb.com, but I figured you'd know better then I. |

yeah It's Murray Gold he's one of my favourite (alive) composers, along with Michael Giacchino if you wanna listen to any more, just YouTube "doctor who 2005 soundtrack" or go onto Amazon MP3 and listen to the preview tracks _________________

I love A River Flows---i cannot remember who the composer is, but if you youtube the song name it should pop up. It's very slow, sad and depressing, and yet so very beautiful. _________________

Oh Yes...
And Sigur Ros-Heima.

Modern/Lyrics:
'Disappearing Man,' Dave Carter/Tracy Grammer.
'Remember the Mountain Bed,' Billy Bragg.
Anything off Zevon's 'The Wind' except for 'Disorder in the House' and 'The Rest of the Night' (and 'Prison Grove,' if it's a Lost vid, since I've used it--it's a horribly depressing song, though.)
Classical (non-madrigals are instrumental):
Edward MacDowell's piano compositions are good tone pieces. Try 'Scotch Poem.' Similarly, Charles Ives can do heartbreakingly sad as well. Though they're not instrumental, a lot of Baroque madrigals are heartbreaking: 'Mon Coeur Se Recommande a Vous' always gets me, anyway. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's.
