When I went to work on my project today about 3/4ths of my clips in the project media and on the tracks displayed a message that they were offline.

What didn't make sense is that all the clips were in the exact same places they have been all the other times I have worked on the video. All the clips were either on my computer or on the flash stick I had plugged into the USB drive.

I found out that if I right clicked on each clip and hit 'replace' it would fill the clips back in where they were supposed to be.

I was just wondering if anyone knew why Sony Vegas would think all the clip media was offline when it was in the same place it had been every other time the project was worked on.

It was just very frustrating to have to replace almost all the clips again, especially when I was only about 3 clips from completing the whole thing.

I had this problem once before... I have no idea what caused it, and doing what you said you did brought them back online, but they were still blacked out when I rendered them.

I eventually had to manually replace the clips. I hope that yours isn't like that since it's very frustrating and time consuming.

Good to know that this is just another of Sony Vegas' odd quirks. This is something I'm going to have to keep in mind when I work on future videos so I don't end up losing whole projects.

I got all the clips put back in and they seem to have stayed this time. (fingers crossed that they stay )

Hopefully it will render correctly.I've had a few other issues with this video and I've been working on it for a year so I'm hoping I can finally get it completed before Sony Vegas freaks out on me again.
