|
|
I've seen quite a few people on Youtube who have added their own little intros at the beginning of their videos. This apparently helps to avoid YT removing vids for copyright violation.. Now, I really can't see any reason why this would help AT ALL. Does anyone know the reason why it would stop YT taking them down and if it actually works? Cause I think it's a rather nice idea to have my own little into at the start of all my vids, but I fail to see how it's a useful trick to avoid copyright stuff. _________________

Yup, it totally works ;P Charlee told me it's because the copyright software only checks the first 30 seconds of their videos. My two latest, All We Are and Battle, where both rejected twice each by youtube before they even became live. I added the titles at the start and now they're both up and running. I totally suggest it if you're vids are getting deleted _________________

lol yeah that's why Jemmz I was so pissed both of those vids got rejected so I was willing to give anything a shot and it works! I didnt want to advertise it tho cos i dont want to be the one who alerts youtube that we've figured out a way around it, lol _________________

It sucks that you are having to go to these lengths. I personally don't want to have to sit through 30 seconds of intro when watching a vid but hey I'm lazy The only reason we put videos on YT is so they are accesible they aren't very accessible with a 30 second chunk of blank screen on them :/ _________________

Oh ok.. Thanks Kat. I had no idea why people were doing it.
I think I may devote my afternoon to making some pretty titles then. I haven't actually had any videos deleted yet, but I feel it's just a matter of time and I see nothing wrong with some preventitive measures.
Thing is, loads of people have got titles made up of all the fandoms they vid, which is lovely, but surely all those clips are copyright protected too? _________________

huh; i guess they'd be copyrighted too. altho with my vids it was the songs that got them rejected :S:S:S but for my titles i just have blank screen and 'Vid starts very soon' every ten seconds or so _________________

yeah I think if you are going to go to the trouble of putting an intro you should just do what Kat did and put video will start in 30 seconds bc the people that are using songs and clips as an intro, well that could be seen as copyright infringement, unless they know for sure the song they are using and clips are safe. _________________

Someone on Youtube said they went into Youtube's "Audioswap" thing, and that lists all the songs/artists they allow you to use in your videos. So they created their intro with one of those songs, and I think it's a cute way of getting around the copyright thing with something more interesting than "please wait 30 seconds for vid to begin". I may try it. _________________

Hehe yeah as long as you put something rather than a black screen it would be cool _________________

That's what I'm doing! *as you know, Elyse* It's actually kind of fun, because you can put in clips of whatever you want as long as the song is approved by Youtube's audioswap. I've seen some pretty cool ones....mine is ending up being a sort of showcase of my favorite ships. XD Didn't really intend that...oh well. _________________

Ugh.. Just lost another vid. They're only my old ones.. so they're crap. But it also means I don't have them on my computer anymore so they're really gone forever Bid farewell to The Queen And I...
Anyhoo, I think I might get on board with this intro malarkey to protect my future vids - a pre-emptive strike, I suppose. I'm rather looking forward to making it. I have a ludicrously obscure song. It's not on the audioswap thing but it's just sooo random and it's only a theme tune to something.. do you think that'll be ok? _________________
