I don't know about you all, but I'm really into awards shows. Even though they don't really mean crap (unless someone awesome wins, hehe ), I still get really into them.
That said, it's TV awards season, yaaaaay!! *parties*
Emmy nominations come out on July 17th, and our favorite show looks to be in the running. So far, they've released the list of the 10 contenders for Best Drama (to be narrowed down to 5), and Lost is right up there!!
Also, today they released the 10 contenders for Best Supporting Actor:

This is a small article about it. Terry O'Quinn has been shut out this year, despite winning the award last year. I'm not super surprised though, because the only episode he was featured in prominently was Cabin Fever, and that wasn't a real stand-out episode, IMO.
Henry Ian Cusick also seems to have been shut out, which is really sad, if you ask me.
However, Michael Emerson (WOO!) and Naveen Andrews are both on the list of 10.
I predict a nomination for Best Drama and a nom for Michael Emerson. Dunno if Naveen's performance this season was strong enough to garner him a nom, but we'll see.
What do you guys think will happen? Or what would you like to see? Or do you even care? Hehe
I gotta say though, that if Michael Emerson doesn't walk away with the gold guy this year, I'm gathering an army and firebombing the Emmy people. I think a lot of people would join me too - he's just been freaking STELLAR this season, he deserves it.... _________________

Michael Emerson was just amazing this year!! I hope he wins. I also think Naveen was great and you can see why they chose him as he was such a big part this year but Michael was the best _________________

Same! I think terry should of won the first year!!! Also remember they send in episodes for each Character, its not the series as a whole. Terry didnt really have any strong performances this year as he did last year which is why i think he wasnt nominated. Where as Naveen and Emerson had huge episodes. Id like to see Naveen win something but i think Michael Emerson has earned it for a long time!
Oh and i was surprised Mathew Fox wasn't nominated last year!!! I think he should be nominated this year! It HAS to be nominated for best show though! |

I really think that Michael Emerson has a shot at it this year. I really think he should have won it last year, but Terry O'Quinn was just too damn good to beat (that scene in Man from Tallahassee when they put him in the wheelchair the first time was just so freaking heartbreaking! )
But with O'Quinn out of the race and Naveen as the only Lost competition, I think he'll fare pretty well. It depends on who else he's nominated with. I think William Shatner might get nominated again, as well as the guy from Grey's Anatomy. All the rest in the top 10 are from shows I've never watched and people I've never heard of until now.
And I think since Shatner's already won a couple times, they might be more inclined to give it to someone else.
But honestly, I think it would be a tragedy if they gave it to anyone else but Michael Emerson. He just blew my mind this season. It'd be freaking CRIMINAL to give it to anyone else.... _________________

WOOT!!!!
Lost in is the running for Best Drama series!! Yay! However, it most defintiely has some competition. It's nominated alongside Boston Legal, Damages, Dexter (yay!), and Mad Men.
Michael Emerson was the only actor to make the cut. Naveen was shut out, but Michael grabbed a nom for Best Supporting Actor. He's nominated alongside William Shatner (boo), Ted Danson, Zeljko Ivanek, and John Slattery.
Yay!! Guess we all have to tune into the Emmys come September! _________________

Crap. I wanted both House and Lost to win best drama. I SOOO wanted Michael Emerson to win best supporting actor for Lost and I soooo wanted Hugh Laurie to win best leading actor in a drama series for House.
NONE of these wishes came true...
How unfair those Emmy-awards are, lol. _________________

I know, the Emmys were total crap this year. It was a waste of 3 hours, honestly.
Michael Emerson was freaking ROBBED. I'm really upset about it. He really deserves to win an emmy for this role. He's so good at it. It's crazy that those stupid Emmy voters can't see that.
I think Lost deserved to win too, but I'm not suprised Mad Men took it home. That's the problem with these stupid awards - they're so predictable. They never pick anything that's outside the norm, just the ones that garner all the buzz. It's annoying....
Maybe ME will have a shot at it next year. He'll just kick even more ass and then they'll have no choice but to give it to him. _________________
