I loved how AltBen's hair was combed down. On the island, his hair made up a good chunk of his character's creepyness so mabe now he'll be less creppily intimidating...? I really wanna see how different this AltBen's going to act. And European history? Does this mean something?
Also, did anyone else's breathing stop when Sawyer was dangling from the ladder?! I was literally holding my breath that whole time, lol. _________________

AltBen cracked me up about the coffee something awful. I teach college, and there are professors here who are exactly like that.
Problem is, though, Ben still has a terrifically creepy voice. I don't know about you, but I'd be a little freaked if I had him for a history teacher, nonetheless.
The Sawyer/ladder thing didn't twitch me, if only because I know he won't die until the last episode, if even then. He's a pivotal character. I predict that all of the numbered names (and Locke and Kate) are probably going to last until the last show; if anyone's getting whacked before then, maybe Sayid, but I doubt it. I am less certain that Claire, Ben, Richard, or any of the newbies are going to last out the show.
I still don't get Ilana. At all. I can't force myself to give a damn about her character one way or the other. Is anyone else with me there? _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

Yeah I could care less about her. I was hoping she'd be cool like Ana Lucia...but no...I'm bored with her. _________________

Good to know I'm not the only one! During that whole big thing with Jacob's ashes, I was all, 'OK, I get where this is going, but why is Ilana the one that they give the plot to?'
She (meaning Ilana) bores me, especially when Sun (who isn't one of my favorites, but whom I find reasonably interesting and watchable) is standing there doing absolutely nothing. If they cast Yunjin Kim for a reason (because she auditioned for Kate, but they wrote a role especially for her instead), for Pete's sakes, they should use her! _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. I like Sun when she's given stuff to do. The writers seem to feast-or-famine with her character, but why they would pass her over for Ilana as far as giving actual plot to beats me. I'm hoping this season will actually use the original castaways more than the last two, anyway. _________________ I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's. His hair was perfect.

I think we're stuck with Ilana cause she's a series regular. I still haven't made my mind up about her although her accent is really weird and grinds on me a bit.
Did you guys notice Helen said to Locke let's invite your dad to the wedding? I guess he's a good guy in this reality
Really hoping for a Sawyer episode this season.. have a feeling his backstory is drastically changed. _________________

Good point Paul....if Locke's Dad is good then that means Sawyer's Dad never killed his Mom? Most likely anyway. _________________

Yeah I was thinking that way but if it resets from 1977 then his parents would already be dead This show makes my head hurt lol
edit: I just checked on lostpedia and apparently it was 1977 when they died. I'm pretty sure Sawyer says in dialogue when he's going on about 'what's done is done' that he could have gone back to stop his parents getting killed as if it had already happened in season five. _________________

Didn't Sawyer say in that talk that it happened the year before....which would mean they died in 1976? _________________

Wow what a cool episode this was
I loved Locke's AU scenes they were great I love how it shown that he didn't believe in fate and all that.
The numbers stuff was brilliant I love how they connected to the lostie's on who he touched, I was shocked Kate wasn't there as Jacob went to see her as well but I lol'ed at it because she wasn't inlcuded as she most the times is lol.
I would be interested if Jacob was still alive to see if he had crossed Sayid's name off or not, because that could give us a hint to whether he is "clean" or not.
Ben as a teacher was brilliant, I was like yaaay lol.
I loved the little kid keep popping up, I hope we get to see more into that at first I thought it was Zach. And poor Richard I'd have loved to have seen some fight in him
But great episode |

It was a great episode.
I'm thinking the blond kid could possibly be Jacob reborn somehow...? _________________

Here's the lostpedia entry for that cave thing: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Cliffside_cave
Going by this, then most names were crossed out and some were completely missing....Straume and Littleton were both crossed out and as far as I can see, they're the only crossed-out ones who are still alive....
Also, if this thing is right, how come names like Carlyle, Austen and Cortez weren't up there? Am REALLY surprised Austen isn't, considering how much of a role good old Kate seems to play on the show.
Maybe this is just me wanting Boone to have something cool going for him, but is there ANY significance to the fact that he was "a sacrifice the island demanded"?????
Anywho, thoughts on the episode...
I LOVED the Alt-Universe thing with Locke and Helen. That was unexpected. I actually find myself missing the old Locke, like he was in S1 and the Alt-Universe....he was a grumpy old man, but rather endearing in his way....
Disappointed about no stuff with Claire and Jin, but that seems to be the Lost way - have a cliffhanger and don't address it unitl two weeks later.
Poor Sawyer. He's sold himself over to the devil....I dunno, is anyone with me and Elyse on all the religious-allegory stuff? It's running RAMPANT.
LOVED Ben showing up in the Alt-Universe!
Also loved them going back to the old graveyard....with they would've showed some of the names on the crosses, just so we don't forget them. *moment of silence for Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia, Libby, Nikki, Paulo, Charlie, Alex and everyone else who died*
I'm confused about that random kid, and why Richard couldn't see him when FLocke and Sawyer could. Young Jacob was my first thought, but why couldn't Richard see him?
Somehow I think FLocke throwing out that white stone bodes ill....
Hum. No other thoughts at the moment.... _________________
