Thank you PC! I'm glad you liked the mood of the vid. Dark and moody, like you said.
Re: The Bells. I will have to chalk it up to my ADD. There was a lot going on in this song, despite the fact that it's very slow and wandering, there's some kind of feedback noise going, the drums, the bells, a gurgling backwards type sound, the vocals. And I'm sure a couple other things. I did like to use the bells - simply because they stood out from all the rest. But they weren't constant throughout the song so sometimes I would lose focus. But sometmes I also do this - I feel that a look on a character's face speaks more as the music plays over it, like, maybe the music is going on inside them? I think I know what moment you're talking about. When Jack quickly turns on Ben as the music picks up and after a few beats I have a steady shot on Jack with the gun in Ben's face - but the bells are still going on. That was one of those moments I was talking about. Whether or not it was effective is another thing entirely LOL. And no! Please don't ever hesitate to offer suggestions. I appreciate them!
I've never been the best with beatwork. Haha. Even the scene where he's walking down the hall "casing the joint" are cut in time with the lyrics, not the beats. See? ADD. haha. |

Great job KC! I loved the lyric use, that song was perfect. The clip choice was very good not only in the storytelling but in showing the emotions of the characters. I also really liked the little audio snippets they worked great.
Nice to see a none AU vid that is well thought out and constructed also _________________

Thank you so much I'm glad you liked it! I didn't want to play the shippy stuff here, the song really didn't call for it. There are shades of all three ships (Jack/Juliet, Sawyer/Kate, Jack/Kate) though really because I didn't want to downplay it either. I call this "keeping it real." LOL. I'm flattered you said it's one of the best you've seen in a while. Means a lot, thank you! |
Hey, you earned every word of it!! Well done!! And the fifty gold stars line I use a lot because it's one of my favorite lines out of the movie School of Rock. (Jack Black!!!! ) So yeah. You rock for this vid. I hope it gets gold.

Thank you, Paul. I love an AU vid but I also think that videos that follow the story of the show can be done well. I'm glad you think this falls into that category!
And Elle, my dear. Thank you so much for your kind words here and at CE. You rock! You are fabuloso!
Freckles, Haha I knew I'd heard that line somewhere before! Kind of reminds me of the excessive awarding of points on Who's Line is it Anyway. Haha. Thanks very much! I do too. But let's not have a riot if it doesn't, LMAO. |

The Jack moment is where I first noticed the issue. I was surprised too because you CLEARLY had the beat use going (marvelously, might I add) before that. I knew you were too good to simply have missed it or ignored it, so I figured you were using another techinque. I just didn't know what it was. lol.
And I'm glad to know that you weren't upset by my bit of constructive criticism. I know a lot of CMs don't like to do that because it could hurt the vidder's feelings. Good to know I didn't hurt yours. _________________

Just so everybody knows, I saw this first.
Anyway...awesome vid as always, KC. Great song choice and nice job putting those audio clips over the top. All your choices of clips are perfect. Like I said on MSN...it's a really weird and creepy vid but in such an awesome, great way. _________________

Thanks Ashleigh! I'm glad you liked it!
Yes, yes. I annoyed Marcus with this vid before I turned it in. Okay, annoyed not the right word. (Or is it, Marcus? You tell me, hehe.) But yeah thanks very much for that! Especially considering your painfully slow download time!

That was excellent! I loved how you intertwined the audio clips and how contrasted them. Brilliant! _________________ If nothing we do matters. Then all that matters is what we do. - Angel |
