how did they do that? i seriously doubt they watch the video or have any way of knowing that its exactly the same unless theres some coding in the vid? even so it would be unique for each upload. Weird and thoroughly annoying.

OMG! Youtube is sneaky! I tried to re-upload one of my vids they just deleted on my backup account and it got rejected right away! Wow! So much for the backup account idea...I guess Imeem it is....

Did you put everything in the same?
You need to put different fields in and also change the document name.

Thats scary Nikki :s Yeah I've never tried to reupload one they've taken off hopefully LVI will eventually support imeem or dailymotion coding eventually so we won't have to use Youtube anymore.

I've heard they use a sort of "facial recognition" program to scan the video portion, so as soon as it "recognizes" a character, it matches the character to the show/movie they come from, matching that to the company that owns the copyright, then they follow whatever instructions that company has given, block or allow with ads. They use something similar to that for the music. That's going to be fairly impossible to get around!

That's exactly how their system works. So when they find... let's say nikki's vid, they keep a record of filename, filesize and hash.

You changed the filename, but the hash remains the same. (right click-properties)

If you upload the same file, it gets auto-blacklisted. The only way if you want to re-upload it at youtube, is to re-encode the file.

As for the alternatives, i think i'll move to dailymotion. They've never deleted any of my vids all these years.
